Product Overview

Razer Blade 15 (Mid 2021) is a premium gaming laptop powered by 11th-gen Intel Tiger Lake models. Like the early-2021 variant, the new Blade 15 features NVIDIA's RTX 30-series graphics up to RTX 3080 with 16GB of graphics memory.
Indeed, two of the same display options are carried over, including a 360Hz FHD unit with 100% sRGB coverage and a 4K unit with 100% DCI-P3 coverage. The QHD panel is upgraded to cover 100% DCI-P3 color space, too.
Another area where upgrades can be found is I/O options. Now Thunderbolt 4 is standard on both the Base and the Advanced models; in the case of the Blade 15 Advanced, two Thunderbolt 4 ports are offered. Additionally, the Advanced model also features WiFi 6E.
All the strengths of the Blade-series have been kept, including the Precision Touchpad and per-key RGB backlighting with N-key rollover (Advanced model only), among others.
Alongside the Blade 15, Razer also refreshed the Blade 17 with Tiger Lake processors.

External Reviews

notebookcheck[1]

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
Fan noise behavior is largely the same as what we discovered on the 10th gen Intel Blade 15. Users may want to set the fans to auto mode with Optimus active or else they will pulse more frequently when web browsing or video streaming. Surface hot spots can be as warm as 52 C when gaming. The palm rests can get much warmer than on most other laptops at almost 40 C.
Pros
  • Higher CPU and GPU performance than the 10th gen Blade 15
  • Long battery life
  • Decent input devices
Cons
  • Below-average CPU performance
  • Lack of Thunderbolt 4 support
  • No Thunderbolt 3

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Razer Blade 15 is the same great-performing and still highly portable gaming flagship we've praised plenty over the years. A new processor adds a bit of pep, there are a load of fast and sharp display options, the webcam is improved, and unsightly finger smudges are greatly reduced. The diminished battery life hurts and the price remains lofty, but this is a premium product going up against premium competitors.
Pros
  • High-end gaming performance
  • Bright, high-refresh 1080p display
  • Improved webcam
Cons
  • Mediocre battery life
  • Lackluster webcam

t3[3]

Reviewers from t3 have found:
The Razer Blade 15 has a stunning 15-inch FHD display. Powered by a Core i7-11800H processor with 8GB of VRAM. Also has 32GB of RAM, a 1TB M.2 PCIe 4.0 SSD, and Intel's Wi-Fi 6E AX210 package.
Pros
  • Fantastic performance
  • Sleek design
  • Excellent build quality
Cons
  • Battery life could be better

techradar[4]

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The Razer Blade 15 has one of the best trackpads we've tested. It's accurate, smooth, and large enough to easily use gestures without accidentally brushing your fingers outside of the box. The keyboard is also as good as ever, with plenty of travel and some beautiful RGB lighting. There's actually a lot considering how thin this laptop is.
Pros
  • Great gaming performance
  • Great keyboard
  • Great trackpads
Cons
  • Lackluster webcam
  • Poor battery life

theverge[5]

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from theverge have found:
This particular Blade 15 Advanced won’t win in a spec shootout against Blade 14. It has the advantage with some creative tasks, thanks to its Intel processor’s Quick Sync Video feature. The fingerprint-resistant coating and the improved 1080p webcam are the more meaningful update of the two.
Pros
  • Slim, light design
  • Improved 1080p webcam
  • Improved fingerprint-resistant coating
Cons
  • No SD card slot
  • No Thunderbolt 3

tomsguide[6]

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The Razer Blade 15 Advanced has a 15.6-inch 1080p screen with an impressive 360 Hz refresh rate. It can last for up to 5 hours and 22 minutes on a battery charge, and reaches temperatures of 82 degrees Fahrenheit during everyday use. Razer Synapse software lets you access optional THX sound features, but even these algorithms can do only so much.
Pros
  • Excellent gaming performance
  • Good battery life
  • Comfortable keyboard
Cons
  • Mediocre speakers
  • No Thunderbolt 3

tomshardware[7]

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
There's a 1080p webcam on the Razer Blade 15, which is a welcome addition. Microsoft has built this into the Windows 11 setup flow, so it's easy to get started with it. Razer limits its preinstalled software to two apps: Razer Synapse and THX Spatial Audio.
Pros
  • Thin, premium design
  • Strong performance
  • Good webcam quality
Cons
  • Expensive for a 15-inch gaming laptop
