Product Overview

Razer Blade 17 (mid-2021) is the latest iteration of Razer's flagship gaming laptop, now with Intel's 11th-gen Tiger Lake H-series processors up to i9-11900H. It also features NVIDIA's latest RTX 30-series graphics up to RTX 3080 with 16GB of graphics memory.
Encased in the same all-aluminum chassis from earlier models, the mid-2021 Blade 17 offers similar I/O options, though it now features two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Thanks to the 11th-gen Intel chip, it also supports PCIe 4 NVMe SSDs up to 4TB in capacity. WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 round up the laptop's rich connectivity choices.
A major upgrade in this generation is in the display department. The FHD panel now refreshes at 360Hz max, while the 4K non-touch model, which replaces the QHD option from the early 2021 Blade Pro 17, boasts 100% DCI-P3 coverage.
Other the strengths of the Blade-series have been kept, including the Precision Touchpad and per-key RGB backlighting with N-key rollover, among others.
Alongside the Blade 17, Razer also refreshed the Blade 15 with Rocket Lake H-series processors.

notebookcheck[1]

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
There is some very slight electronic noise or coil whine on our unit that only becomes noticeable when placing an ear near the keyboard keys. Surface temperatures are reasonable on the Blade 17 due in part to its four individual fans compared to just two on most other laptops. The lack of a webcam shutter is becoming more difficult to ignore as well and the two high-pitched fans should be addressed.
Pros
  • Slim bezels
  • High-contrast IPS display
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Below-average CPU performance
  • No Thunderbolt 3

tomsguide[2]

Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The Razer Blade 17 runs hot, and has a surprisingly short battery life. Even if you use it for productivity, the Blade 17 is too hot to comfortably keep in your lap. In terms of performance, it's similar to its competitors — although said competitors don't offer full 4K screens. If you're in the market for a powerful gaming laptop, the Alienware m4 is worth considering.
Pros
  • Gorgeous 4K screen
  • Sleek design
  • Comfortable keyboard
Cons
  • Short battery life
