Sonus faber Lumina III
Floorstanding LoudspeakerProduct Gallery
Product Overview
Sonus faber Lumina III is the smaller of two floorstanding loudspeakers in the company's new entry-level Lumina collection. Compared to the comparable model in Sonus faber's previous entry point, the Sonetto III, the Lumina III loses the unique Lute shape; still, it retains the leather details and is made in Italy.
The Lumina III features a 3-way bass-reflex design with two 150mm cone woofers, a single 150mm paper cone midrange, and a 29mm DAD tweeter. It is built into a minimalist cabinet with real wood front baffles in three designs: Walnut and Wenge in matte with maple inlays and glossy Piano Black. The cabinet is wrapped in leather everywhere else.
Compared to the larger Lumina V unveiled months after the initial release of the Lumina III, this floorstander loses the Lute-shaped mid-high internal chamber. Its crossover network is also less sophisticated. Nevertheless, the Lumina III is an ideal solution for price-sensitive HiFi-enthusiasts in stereo as well as home theatre setups.
Other loudspeakers in the Lumina collection include a larger floorstander, Lumina V, two bookshelf speakers, Lumina II and Lumina I, and a center-channel speaker, Lumina CI.

Reviewer score 88% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Sonus faber Lumina IIIs had a manner to their groove, a feeling that every part of the music moved together as a single machine. Soundstage wasn’t quite as limitless as with the others, and I was missing the last bit of detail from high-resolution digital recordings and LPs. The treble was also sweet and extended.
