Product Overview

Oppo Reno 5G is a flagship-level smartphone with a focus on camera performance. Essentially a 5G-enabled variant of the Reno 10x Zoom, the Reno 5G boasts a strong tri-camera setup, including a periscope telephoto unit with 5x optical zoom and 10x hybrid zoom, and a motorized pop-up selfie camera.
All this is packed in an aluminum chassis sandwiched between Gorilla glass front and rear covers. Its display is a 6.6-inch FHD+ OLED unit with 93.1% screen-to-body ratio, thanks to the motorized selfie camera mechanism that eliminates the "notch". This mechanism is able to complete the swing in under one second and is rated for over 200k uses; it further enjoys free-fall protection function.
On the battery front, the Reno 5G supports 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging to complement its moderate 4065mAh battery.

Reviewer score 66% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
Oppo's Reno 5G is a fantastic phone, with or without 5G. It's not officially available in the US, but its Australian price of AU$1,499 converts to $1,030. In the UK it's sold exclusively via monthly plans through EE, from £49. Oppo's take on Android, ColorOS, has always been weak.
Pros
  • Fantastic 5G performance
  • Superb tri-camera setup
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No 5G
  • Limited coverage in the US

techradar[2]

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
Oppo Reno 5G runs on Android 9, with Oppo's ColorOS laid over the top. It has a 48MP main snapper joined by a 13MP sensor with a periscope lens (for optical zoom) and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front there's a 16MP selfie camera. There's no 3.5mm headphone jack, so if you're sticking with wired headphones you might need an adapter.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Excellent camera
  • 5G connectivity
Cons
  • No 3.5mm headphone jack
  • No 5G support
