Product Overview

Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is a premium smartphone with a focus on camera performance. It boasts not only a 48MP main camera but also a 13MP periscope telephoto unit with 5x optical zoom and 10x hybrid zoom as well as a motorized pop-up selfie camera.
All this is packed in an aluminum chassis sandwiched between Gorilla glass front and rear covers. Its display is a 6.6-inch FHD+ OLED unit with 93.1% screen-to-body ratio, thanks to the motorized selfie camera mechanism that eliminates the "notch". This mechanism is able to complete the swing in under one second and is rated for over 200k uses; it further enjoys free-fall protection function.
On the battery front, the Reno 10x Zoom supports 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging to complement its moderate 4065mAh battery.
The Reno 10x Zoom joins the Reno, Reno Z, and Reno 5G in Oppo's 2019 Reno lineup.

digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 56% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has a great camera, but it's let down by its software. The Huawei P30 Pro is the Reno's direct rival, and it's the better purchase. If you want something a little different, the Asus Zenfone 6 has its unusual flip camera, similar performance, and again, better software.
Pros
  • Excellent performance
  • Excellent camera
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Software is buggy
  • No water or dust resistance

gsmarena[2]

Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from gsmarena have found:
Oppo's Reno 10x zoom is an excellent phone with plenty of standout features. It has a captivating design, one very intriguing pop-up, a large and uninterrupted AMOLED, amazing battery life, and an impressively versatile camera. But putting so much focus on the extra long telephoto reach might not have been the smartest idea as it puts the phone very close to the Huawei P30 Pro.
Pros
  • Gorgeous AMOLED screen
  • Impressive battery life
  • Excellent performance
Cons
  • No periscope camera
  • No telephoto zoom

nextpit[3]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from nextpit have found:
OPPO Reno 10x Zoom is equipped with an optical fingerprint reader located underneath the OLED display. OPPO also chooses to follow the same strategy as Huawei, aiming to eliminate the audio jack on its flagship device. The new SoC is supported by 6 or 8GB of RAM, plus 128 or 256GB of internal storage.
Pros
  • Fingerprint reader
  • Very good battery life
  • Fast SoC
Cons
  • Only one layout of the home screen
  • Only one app drawer

pcmag[4]

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has a triple camera stack with a 48MP primary lens with an f/1.7 aperture. Images taken with the primary lens are crisp, with strong detail and color accuracy. The telephoto lens uses a periscope to capture excellent macro photos that compare with the Huawei P30 Pro. Audio is surprisingly strong thanks to stereo speakers with a peak volume of 93dB.
Pros
  • Excellent camera performance
  • Excellent battery life
  • Solid performance in gaming
Cons
  • No water-resistant case

phonearena[5]

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from phonearena have found:
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has three cameras on the back – a primary 48MP camera with an f/1.7 lens, an 8MP wide-angle, and a 13MP telephoto. During the day, the Reno is capable of capturing nice images, with mostly accurate colors and good dynamic range, without going too heavy on the post-processing. If you're after extra detail, you can switch to 48MP mode, since the main camera shoots at 12MP resolution by default.
Pros
  • Excellent build quality
  • Excellent performance
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No telephoto camera
  • No face unlock

t3[6]

Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from t3 have found:
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom has a 48MP+13MP+8MP triple-lens rear camera. It also has a pop-up selfie camera that pops up out of the top of the phone. The 6.6-inch screen covers almost all of the front of the device, giving the phone an impressive 87 percent screen-to-body ratio. It has a top-of-the-line Snapdragon 855 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage.
Pros
  • Great camera
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No waterproofing
  • No notch
  • No wireless charging

techadvisor[7]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techadvisor have found:
Oppo's Reno 10x Zoom has a 6.6in full-screen AMOLED display. It has a 48Mp main lens and a 5x optical zoom that can simulate 10x. Oppo says it's been tested to survive 200,000 pivots - over 5 years of use if you do it 100 times a day. The rear cameras are built into the body so there's no camera bump at all.
Pros
  • Gorgeous AMOLED display
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • Not the most user-friendly software
  • No headphone jack

techradar[8]

Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is one of the most streamlined phones we've seen. There's not even the slightest camera bump on the back – in fact, the only thing stopping the rear of the device being a completely smooth surface is what Oppo calls the O-Dot. Despite that large size, and the fact that the pop-up camera means there's no notch, the display only takes up 93.1% of the face – that's because there's a thin top bezel and slightly thicker bottom chin. The AMOLED screen has a resolution of 387 pixels per inch.
Pros
  • Gorgeous design
  • Big screen
Cons
  • No notch
  • No 3.5mm headphone jack

tomsguide[9]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
At £700, the Oppo Reno 10x is on the lower end of what you'd pay for a flagship phone, but it still fits comfortably among more-expensive rivals. More processing power is desirable, but the less-welcome side effect is heat. The Dolby Atmos-tuned speaker is one of the biggest and most pleasant surprises of the phone.
Pros
  • Excellent performance
  • Wide-angle camera
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No headphone jack
  • No wireless charging

trustedreviews[10]

Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The Reno 10x Zoom has a 6.6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. It features a pop-up camera that can be raised 100 times a day. There’s an optical in-display fingerprint sensor, which the company says is twice as fast as first-generation iterations of the technology. The phone is thicker than the status quo (at 9.3mm) and carries a lot of heft at 210 grams.
Pros
  • Impressive performance
  • Impressive battery life
  • Excellent performance
Cons
  • No notch or hole-punch camera
