Panasonic SC-HTB490 is an entry-level 2.1-channel soundbar with wireless subwoofer. Despite its "TV-ready" size, the SC-HTB490 only uses two full-range racetrack drivers in the main unit, and its subwoofer has a 16cm / 6.5" driver.
Other compromises include limited I/O options and digital audio processing support. Nevertheless, the SC-HTB490 is a notable improvement over the SC-HTB400 from 2020: Not only is wireless subwoofer now included in the package, but the two full-range drivers are also upgraded.
It fact, the SC-HTB490 compares well to the SC-HTB600 as well, offering similar driver setups, though the aforementioned I/O and digital processing limitations again bid poorly to it in this comparison.
