Samsung HW-A650 3.1-Channel
SoundbarProduct Gallery
Product Overview
HW-A650 is a 3.1-channel soundbar with wireless subwoofer in Samsung's 2021 lineup. It is essentially a power upgrade over the HW-T650 from 2020 from 340W to 430W.
Compared to the HW-A550, which is a 2.1-channel soundbar, the HW-A650 adds a center channel that makes dialogue more impactful. Compared to the HW-A450, it supports DTS Virtual:X and Dolby Digital 5.1 for surround sound processing.
The HW-A650 can be complemented by Samsung's new SWA-9100S wireless rear speakers to provide a surround sound experience.
For those interested in watching movies with their soundbar, Samsung also markets several Dolby Atmos-enabled soundbars in the Q-series.

External Reviews
rtings[1]
Reviewer score 44% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung HW-A650 is satisfactory for mixed usage. Its balanced mid-range can reproduce clear and accurate dialogue, but it lacks some low-bass. While it supports surround content, it has to downmix it to stereo to play it, which doesn't sound as immersive. It also doesn't support Dolby Atmos content.
Pros
- Well-balanced mid-range
- Lots of sound enhancement features
- Graphic EQ and several presets
- Great for dialogue-centric content
Cons
- Lacks some low-bass
- Doesn't support Dolby Atmos
