NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition
Graphics CardProduct Gallery
Product Overview
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition is a reference graphics card based on the new RTX 3080 Ti GPU, which offers a level of performance close to that of the RTX 3090 and significantly above that of the RTX 3080 for gaming, though it may be memory-bound in machine learning applications.
As it is the case with all NVIDIA reference cards, the RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition offers the purest form of the new Ampere architecture without extra bells and whistles. It is built just like the RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Founders Edition cards, with a dual-fan cooling system and a compact, 2-slot design.
Similarly, this reference card (and indeed all RTX 3080 Ti cards) uses GDDR6X memory, which is significantly faster than GDDR6.

arstechnica[1]
Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)The RTX 3080 Ti has a 61.5 MH/s mining hash rate. It's not earth-rattling for a high-end miner, but it's a heckuva GPU. If you can safely go to a store at this point in 2021, you might have a shot at buying one this week.
Pros
- Sleek design
- High-end performance
- Good value for money
Cons
- No video-out capabilities
- Not the cheapest GPU on the market
digitaltrends[2]
Reviewer score 59% (normalized by Neofiliac)The $1,200 price tag for a graphics card is ungodly. It's way too much money to spend on a single component in your system. Compared to AMD graphics cards, the RTX 3080 Ti is a ray tracing machine. The AMD card is $200 cheaper but wins in most head-to-head games.
Pros
- Radeon RX 6900 XT is a ray tracing machine
- More powerful than the RTX 3080 Ti
Cons
- Lite Hash Rate limiter isn’t ideal for cryptocurrency mining
- More expensive than RTX 3090
notebookcheck[3]
Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition arrives at such a crucial juncture in GPU history. For perhaps the first time, gamers have to face a triple whammy of supply chain constraints, inflated prices, and the ephemeral cryptocurrency mining craze. While this is no doubt the halo GPU that hardcore gamers would crave for, it is also nearly twice as dear as the RT 3080 for nominal performance gains in most titles.
Pros
- Fantastic performance in 4K Ultra
- Good case cooling
- Good value for money
Cons
- High temperatures under load
- High power consumption
pcmag[4]
Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Founders Edition costs $1,199. It's a 4K-gaming beast inside, but it doesn't generate enough extra performance to justify the big increase in MSRP. With crypto prices falling by the minute, it may not be long before a wave of used RTX 30 Series GPUs hits the secondhand marketplace.
Pros
- Fantastic 4K gaming performance
- Gorgeous design
- Strong overclocking performance
Cons
- Pricey for a 4K card
- Not the fastest RTX 3080
techradar[5]
Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is basically as fast as the RTX 3090 in PC games, even despite the fact that it has half the VRAM. This is what you should buy if you want the best gaming performance you can get right now, and don’t really need to be running Blender or Resolve all the time. For any game that you’re looking to play, the Turing card is going to be able to max out at 4K, including all fancy ray tracing effects.
Pros
- Extremely fast
- Dedicated power connector
- Great value for money
Cons
- Not as powerful as the RTX 3090 Founders Edition
theverge[6]
Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)The RTX 3080 Ti comes close to matching the RTX 3090 performance at 4K in games like Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Gears 5, and Death Stranding. Both cards manage around 30fps on average, and even DLSS only bumps this up to below 50fps averages. Most games manage to comfortably rise above 60fps in 4K at ultra settings, with Microsoft Flight Simulator and Metro Exodus as the only exceptions.
Pros
- Solid 1440p and 4K performance
- NVENC and professional tooling support
- 144Hz refresh rate
Cons
- No G-Sync support
- No 4K support
trustedreviews[7]
Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)The 3080 Ti is a powerhouse graphics card that delivers excellent 4K ray tracing performance. If you can afford its steep up-front cost, it’s an excellent choice for any hardcore gamer looking for top-of-line performance. However, the gains you get compared to the base RTX 3080 make it a hard sell for gamers who don’t need the best performance in 4K.
Pros
- Excellent 4K performance
- Good value for money
- Decent ray tracing performance
Cons
- No DLSS support
