Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A4A is a midrange 7.2-channel AV Receiver that shares much of the same design and feature set with the more powerful RX-A6A and RX-A8A unveiled at the same time.
Unlike those more powerful models, the RX-A4A uses a single ESS SABRE ES9007S DAC and drops XLR connectivity and composite video input. It outputs 110W into 8ohms (2 channels driven). Beyond these differences, however, much of the same features are retained.
A new aspect of the AVENTAGE RX-A4A is the design update that Yamaha has introduced across the lineup. The receiver's front fascia is now simpler, with a high-resolution LCD display and touch sensitive buttons taking prominent stage.
With this update comes Yamaha's effort to integrate more smart features such as MusicCast multi-room audio, AirPlay 2, and Spotify Connect as well as all major voice assistants. They are aided by WiFi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
