The AVENTAGE RX-A8A is Yamaha's flagship 11.2-channel AV Receiver for 2021. It features dual ESS SABRE ES9026PRO Ultra DACs and supports 4K 120fps, 8K 60fps, and HDR10+ video via HDCP 2.3 and eARC.
The RX-A8A offers the most complete feature set on the market today. It comes with XLR connections alongside conventional RCA ports as well as integrated phono stage and composite video support.
Via its large number of HDMI, optical, and coaxial inputs, the AVENTAGE RX-A8A is able to leverage its dual ESS SABRE ES9026PRO Ultra DACs. It is able to output 150W into 8 ohms (2 channels driven), a class-leading output level.
A new aspect of the AVENTAGE RX-A8A is the design update that Yamaha has introduced across the lineup. The design is now simpler, with a high-resolution LCD display and touch sensitive buttons taking prominent stage.
With this update comes Yamaha's effort to integrate more smart features such as MusicCast multi-room audio, AirPlay 2, and Spotify Connect as well as all major voice assistants. The RX-A8A is also compatible with Pandora, Spotify, Napster, SiriusXM, TIDAL, Deezer, Qobuz, and Amazon Music HD. They are aided by WiFi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity.
Alongside the RX-A8A, Yamaha also introduced the 9.2-channel RX-A6A and 7.2-channel RX-A4A.
