Product Overview
ASUS ZenFone 8 Flip is a flagship-level smartphone by ASUS in 2021. Unlike the ZenFone 8 unveiled at the same time, the Flip inherits the flip-up camera system of the ZenFone 7 / 7 Pro from last year.
As such, the ZenFone 8 Flip also retains the same 6.67-inch 90Hz OLED display from the 2020 model. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 rather than the Victus found on the smaller ZenFone 8.
Other features carried over include microSD card support and the presence of 3.5mm headphone jack.
As a flagship device, the ZenFone 8 Flip also enjoys a few upgrades, including new support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Zenfone 8 Flip has a flip-out camera system that lets you use the primary camera as a front-facing shooter. The main sensor seems to produce well-detailed and fairly color-accurate images. The camera is a little softer and noisier, and the telephoto lens isn't great either.
Pros
- Fantastic 90Hz display
- Great battery life
- Good camera system
Cons
- No wireless charging
- No IP68 water and dust resistance rating
digitaltrends[2]
Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Zenfone 8 Flip lives and dies by how much you want the flip camera. If you take a lot of selfies, it's unsurpassed in terms of features and on-paper specs. But if you're serious about mobile photography in general, there are better phone cameras for not much more money.
Pros
- Fantastic battery life
- Excellent cameras
- Fast charging
Cons
- Doesn't have water resistance
- No wireless charging

The Zenfone 8 Flip is already a great smartphone, and it offers a snappy user experience. The only things we could wish for are better battery life, and a higher refresh rate for the display.
Pros
- Beautiful 90Hz AMOLED display
- Excellent battery life
- Excellent selfie camera
Cons
- No microSD card slot
- No IP rating
notebookcheck[4]

The screen is also bright enough to display legible images even on slightly cloudy days. The smartphone's behavior can be controlled via the "Game Genie" app. With the included charger, the 5,000 mAh battery is fully recharged after about one and a half hours.
Pros
- Bright AMOLED display
- Long battery life
- Fast Wi-Fi
Cons
- Mediocre camera performance
- High temperatures under load
