Product Overview

The 2021 Gigabyte AORUS 17G KD/XD/YD is a flagship-level 17.3-inch gaming laptop. Compared to the XC/YC models unveiled just a few months before at CES 2021, the new models now feature 11th-gen Intel Core i7-11800H Tiger Lake processors.
On the GPU side, the options are now expanded and modified. An NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPU is freshly available, while the RTX 3080 chip now comes with 16GB of GDDR6 graphics memory.
Other related updates include DDR4-3200 memory, Bluetooth 5.2, Thunderbolt 4, and PCI Express Gen4 SSD.
The same 300Hz display offered by the AORUS 17X is standard on the 17G, which has been the case for last year as well. Notably, the highest-spec'd AORUS 17G YD is rather similar to the 17X, with thermal headroom vis-à-vis portability as the tradeoff.
Alongside the AORUS 17G, Gigabyte also refreshed other models in its premium laptop lineup with Tiger Lake processors in May 2021.

  • Good battery life
  • NVMe SSD
Cons
  • Low TGP
  • High noise level under load
