Product Overview
Sennheiser IE 900 are the company's latest flagship in-ear audiophile earphones. They feature Sennheiser's proprietary X3R transducer with a unique triple-chamber absorber system.
The IE 900's earbuds are each crafted from a single block of aluminum. Its triple-chamber absorber system is able to make high-frequency sounds clearer by removing the energy from masking resonances. Sennheiser claims that the IE 900's single-driver design offers greater fidelity compared to multi-driver headphones, thanks to this triple-chamber absorber design.
With the IE 900, Sennheiser has included three switchable cables, allowing the owner to switch between 2.5mm, 3.5mm, and 4.4mm connectors.

whathifi[2]
Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)Sennheiser IE 900 have a single driver rather than the more fashionable multiple unit approach that many rivals take. A single unit has no need for a crossover of any sort, so avoids the innate distortion of such a circuit. These earphones are comfortable in use thanks to careful shaping, a good range of eartips and the security provided by the cable folding around the ears.
Pros
- Clean, open sound
- Excellent source and amplification quality
- Easy to use
Cons
- No in-line remote
