Epson EcoTank ET-8500 is an A4 3-in-1 ink-tank printer optimized for photo printing. It has the exact same set of features offered by the A3+ ET-8550 and, like its bigger brother, shares a similar 6-ink approach adopted by Canon's latest MAXIFY models.
The EcoTank ET-8500 can be considered the successor to the ET-7500 introduced a few years back. It not only adds an additional (Grey) ink but also improves upon the ET-7500 in features. Among these improvements is the new 10.9cm / 4.3" touch screen that brings the printer's UI to the 21st century. There is also an auto-duplexer for double-sided printing.
The EcoTank ET-8500, like its A3+-sized sister, ET-8550, uses Epson's Claria ET Premium inks that offer improved durability and color reproduction compared to other EcoTank inks.
