Naturally, Sony has enabled Party Connect feature, making it possible to connect up to 100 compatible speakers for music and lighting syncing.
Last but not least, the SRS-XG500 comes with two USB charging ports as well as a microphone input for versatility in entertainment.
At the same time, Sony also introduced the SRS-XP500 and SRS-XP700 wireless speakers designed specifically for parties.

External Reviews

pcmag[1]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The SRS-XG500 is compatible with Bluetooth 5.0, and supports AAC, SBC, and LDAC Bluetooth codecs. You can also toggle certain audio processing features, like ClearAudio+, LiveSound, and MegaBass, on and off. With the effect on, the lows go into full subwoofer mode, with some serious rumble. The JBL Boombox 2 is fully waterproof, and we like its audio performance a bit more.
Pros
  • Powerful audio performance with MegaBass mode enabled
  • Water-resistant design
  • Compatible with Bluetooth 5.0, AAC, SBC, LDAC, and LDAC Bluetooth codecs
  • Easy to use app
Cons
  • Muddles the overall audio performance

rtings[2]

Reviewer score 44% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Sony XG500 has a relatively balanced mid-range, so voices and dialogue are clearly and accurately reproduced. However, it struggles to reproduce low-bass, so you can't feel the deep thump and rumble in action-packed scenes. While it can get pretty loud, there's some compression at max volume, so your audio may not sound as clean at louder volumes.
Pros
  • Well-built portable Bluetooth speaker
  • Low latency with iOS and Android devices
  • Graphic EQ and presets you can use to tweak its sound to your liking
  • High-quality build quality
  • Very good battery life
  • Great noise isolation
Cons
  • Deremphasized treble range can make higher-pitched voices and lead instruments sound dull and veiled
  • Some compression at max volume
  • Doesn't support voice assistants
  • Lacks deep thump and rumble in bass-heavy music
