Product Overview
ASUS ZenFone 7 Pro is a flagship-level smartphone by ASUS in 2020. Compared to the base ZenFone 7, the Pro model uses a higher-clocked Snapdragon 865 chipset, which is joined by larger, 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Its main and telephoto cameras also feature optical image stabilization, which is missing in the base model. The two are otherwise identical.
This new 6.67-inch AMOLED NanoEdge display refreshes at 90Hz and boasts 1ms response time. It offers high color accuracy and covers over 100% of the DCI-P3 color space.
ZenFone 7 Pro's flip-up main camera unit allows the user to access both camera units as front-facing cameras. It also makes it possible for ASUS to push the phone's display to the edge of all sides, without notch or punch hole.

External Reviews
androidauthority[1]
Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Zenfone 7 Pro has the newest flagship SoC, the biggest battery, and the most unique design. It can shoot in many modes, including 8K 30fps and 4K 120fps. Because the cameras flip around, you can vlog in these modes too. Asus needs to work on its image processing if it wants to compete at this price range.
Pros
- Fantastic battery life
- Vlogging and video recording
- Excellent cameras
Cons
- No microSD card slot
- No headphone jack
digitaltrends[2]
Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)Asus continues to build ZenUI into a neat, usable, relatively bloat-free version of Android. The ZenFone 7 Pro's flip camera makes it absolutely the best smartphone for taking selfies you can buy. This along with the excellent software, pretty 90Hz screen, and thoughtfully added features like the battery saving tech and 8K video recording, makes it a good value.
Pros
- Beautiful 90Hz display
- Excellent software
- Good battery life
Cons
- Heavy and heavy
- No wireless charging
gsmarena[3]
Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Zenfone 7 builds on the winning formula of last year's model and brings upgrades in areas where we found the 6 was notably lacking. It has the same 5,000mAh battery as the 6, but gets faster charging - the bundled adapter is rated at 30W and supports USB PowerDelivery with PPS. The Flip camera is super cool, but also useful in ways fixed cams simply cannot be. A big battery is never a bad thing, and the Zen fone 7's price ratio still appears to be one of the best.
Pros
- Gorgeous OLED display
- Fingerprint reader
- Good battery life
Cons
- No telephoto camera
- No headphone jack
nextpit[4]
Reviewer score 65% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Zenfone 7 Pro can handle anything you can throw at it, but it is lacking a certain snappiness in the software. ZenUI 7 looks like Stock Android but doesn't feel as slick or as smooth as Oxygen OS. The flip camera mechanism is undoubtedly a quirky innovation, but the device is thick, chubby, and heavy at 230 grams.
Pros
- Great battery life
- Fingerprint sensor
- Fast charging
Cons
- Chunky design
- Sluggish camera performance
notebookcheck[5]
Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)The ZenFone 7 Pro is equipped with the fastest SoC currently available from Qualcomm - the Snapdragon 865+. The octa-core processor is accompanied by 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and the high-end graphics chip Adreno 650. Current games are displayed very smoothly and can be played at up to 90 fps. The device does not provide an audio jack and headphones can connected via Bluetooth.
Pros
- Bright AMOLED display
- Fast SoC
- Good battery life
Cons
- Mediocre cameras
- No IP certification
techradar[6]
Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Zenfone 7 Pro runs Android 10 out of the box, and promises a year of upgrades. The main camera is a 64MP f/1.8 shooter with OIS, while the ultrawide is a 12MP camera that includes a respectable but not industry-leading 113-degree field of view. The zoom lens is the weak link, especially compared to the admirable 30x max digital zoom in the Galaxy S20.
Pros
- Fantastic cameras
- Fast charging
- Good battery life
Cons
- No wireless charging
- No IP rating
theverge[7]
Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)In daylight, the Asus Zenfone 7 Pro likes to keep its photos on the bright and punchy side. There's plenty of detail, but the amount of saturation can sometimes give photos an unnatural look. Even with the camera's beauty mode turned off, it still makes skin tones look too bright. The combination of main, ultrawide, and zoom cameras is definitely the right call.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Fantastic screen
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- No IP rating for dust or water resistance
- Middling camera performance
tomsguide[8]
Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)The ZenFone 7 and 7 Pro are in a class of their own in terms of giving users the same quality of photos up front as around back. The same cameras you get on the rear are available for group or personal selfies, thanks to the Flip Camera system. Both devices feature one of Qualcomm's finest mobile chipsets — the Snapdragon 865. Both can connect to sub-6GHz 5G networks.
Pros
- Gorgeous AMOLED display
- Long battery life
- Excellent cameras
Cons
- No wireless charging
- No microSD card slot
