Product Overview
ASUS ROG Phone 5 Pro is a slightly more powerful variant of the ROG Phone 5. It boosts the storage to 512GB and adds a rear matrix display that can also be found in the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate.
Like the two other models in this series, the ROG Phone 5 Pro is based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 5G Mobile Platform. Its rich spec sheet include such industry-leading features as 16GB LPDDR5 memory, 6.78-inch OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and over 111% DCI-P3 coverage, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual 5G connectivity.
True to its gaming heritage, the ROG Phone 5 Pro inherits the design language of its predecessors. It also bucks the trend in the industry and retains the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is powered by a Hi-Fi-grade ESS DAC. The same 6000mAh battery capacity from previous generations can be found here, too, split in two parts with the motherboard situated in the middle, a layout that aids heat dissipation during long gaming sessions.
Compared to its predecessor, the new ROG Phone 5 offers 25% faster CPU performance and 35% GPU performance.

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)Asus' ROG Phone 5 Pro has surprisingly little added value for its rather steep surcharge. Vision display on the back is certainly a nice gimmick, but it does not offer any added value in use. The ROG 5 Pro remains the best gaming smartphone at the moment, with a strong configuration.
Pros
- 144 Hz AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate
- Fast Wi-Fi 6E
- Long battery runtimes
