Product Overview

LG SP11RA is the flagship 7.1.4-channel soundbar with wireless subwoofer and wireless rear speakers in LG's 2021 lineup. Success to the SN11RG from 2020, the SP11RA is an incremental update, sharing with the former the same driver setup and power output.
This, however, does not mean that the SP11RA is not a compelling option. It retains the wireless rear speakers and wireless subwoofers as well as the most complete set of digital audio processing programs.
Like other premium soundbars in LG's lineup, the SP11RA features Meridian Audio speakers as well as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa built-in for voice control.
Other soundbar in LG's 2021 lineup include the 5.1-channel SP7Y, the 3.1.2-channel SPD7Y and SP8YA, and the 5.1.2-channel SP9YA.

Reviewers from rtings have found:
The LG SP11RA soundbar is impressive for dialogue-centric content like TV shows. Its balanced mid-range can reproduce voices clearly and with detail. Its discrete center channel helps to accurately localize dialogue to a pinpoint location. It also supports surround content as well as Dolby Atmos content, which is handy for movie fans.
Pros
  • Bass and treble adjustments
  • Supports surround content and Dolby Atmos content
  • Bluetooth 4.0
Cons
  • No graphic EQ
  • Lacks a full graphic EQ for sound customization

techradar[2]

Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The SP11RA sounds almost unfeasibly good. Sound distribution is expertly controlled to create a convincing and immersive sense of three-dimensional space. Effects placement is particularly good versus most if not all rival Dolby Atmos soundtracks. Music mode that activates the Meridian Horizon processing doesn't sound as good as we'd hoped. With film soundtracks the AI Sound Pro mode makes the soundbar sound louder, with a more expansive dynamic range.
Pros
  • Gorgeous, detailed sound
  • Superb build quality
  • Excellent sound quality
Cons
  • No HDR10+ support
  • No Dolby Vision

Reviewer score 55% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The SP11RA delivers a much more convincing full surround sound experience than the vast majority of rival soundbars, regardless of how big your room is. While dialogue is exceptionally clear, occasionally it can sound a little trapped in and narrow – as if it’s coming from slightly below the picture. Hard impact sounds don’t always hit with the potency they could.
Pros
  • Dolby Atmos-like/object-based sound
  • Great build quality
Cons
  • Bass can be a little heavy
  • Not as effective with music as it is with movies

Reviewers from whathifi have found:
The SP11RA is a big improvement from last year's SN11RG. It's easy to listen to, creating an even, immersive listening experience and, while you may have to give up some space to house it, its connectivity spec is one of the most comprehensive we've seen. ‘Music' mode that benefits from tuning courtesy of Meridian, with whom LG has collaborated to enhance its audio products since 2018.
Pros
  • Vibrant, detailed sound
  • Dolby Atmos support
Cons
  • No separate sub
