Product Overview
SteelSeries Apex Pro is a full-size mechanical gaming keyboard that features OmniPoint adjustable mechanical switches in a series 5000 aircraft grade aluminum frame.
The OmniPoint switch offers exceptional 0.7ms response time and actuation point down to 0.4mm. Each key is individually adjustable from 0.4mm up to 3.6mm. They are also more durable compared to conventional mechanical switches, rated at 100 million key strokes.
As a premium mechanical keyboard, the SteelSeries Apex Pro features a full metal frame as well as a magnetic wrist rest with a durable soft touch finish that is easy to attach. It also comes with an OLED display for custom information.
Naturally, the Apex Pro comes 100% anti-ghosting and N-key rollover.
Alongside the Apex Pro, SteelSeries also unveiled a similarly designed Apex 7 with conventional SteelSeries QX2 switches.

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)The SteelSeries Apex Pro features a unique per-key (mostly) actuation force. The OLED panel's purpose is to provide a quicker way to adjust your keyboard settings. SteelSeries Engine also lets you program macro keys and remap any key on the keyboard. However, the $199 price might give some gamers pause.
Pros
- Sleek, compact design
- Per-key actuation force
- Good battery life
Cons
- No OmniPoint switches
techradar[2]
Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)The SteelSeries Apex Pro is one of the best gaming keyboards we've ever used. The aluminum frame of this laptop is just big enough to house it, without too much excess. The key caps are elevated above the keyboard deck, giving the keyboard a very modern and clean aesthetic. OLED display can be used to adjust settings like actuation, lighting and OLED brightness.
Pros
- Svelte design
- Custom actuation
- Sleek design
Cons
- No RGB lighting
- No wrist rest
trustedreviews[3]
Reviewer score 93% (normalized by Neofiliac)The SteelSeries Apex Pro is easily one of the best gaming keyboards I’ve used in recent years, possessing so many unique features and a blazing fast performance. The keyboard is built using SteelSeries’ distinct OmniPoint switches, which boast a very snappy 0.7 millisecond response time. Bespoke actuation points housed in their own switchable profiles will be ideal for gamers who are seriously specific about the responsiveness of their keyboard. RGB lighting possesses the same level of absurd customisation as the keys themselves, with all of your options being housed in SteelSeries' bespoke programme.
Pros
- Superb performance
- Sleek design
- Superb RGB lighting
Cons
- Can’t bind two functions to a single key
