Product Overview
ASUS ROG Strix Scope TKL is a tenkeyless mechanical gaming keyboard that features a choice of five Cherry MX switches. It also enjoys an aluminum frame and Aura Sync RGB lighting.
Similar to the full-size ROG Strix Scope, the TKL version offers much of the same features in a smaller package that is usually preferred by gamers. Its all-aluminum construction makes it a durable option.
Unsurprisingly, the ROG Strix Scope TKL features 100% anti-ghosting and N-key rollover.
ASUS has recently also introduced a version of Strix Scope with its first optical mechanical switches. We can expect it to release a tenkeyless version soon, too.
The ROG Strix Scope TKL can also be purchased with a custom wrist rest as the ROG Strix Scope TKL Deluxe. ASUS also sells special editions of the keyboard that only differ in color scheme.

Reviewer score 63% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Asus ROG Strix Scope TKL Electro Punk is a solid keyboard with a fun aesthetic. The keyboard also has an Fn Lock that allows you to switch between standard key inputs and quick use of the Function keys for gaming. On the 10fastfingers.com typing test, I managed to hit 122 words per minute.
Pros
- Easy to use
- Sleek design
- Comfortable keyboard
Cons
- No palm rest
- Expensive for a full-sized keyboard
pcmag[2]
Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Strix Scope TKL sports Cherry MX switches. The Electro Punk model comes with Cherry's linear MX Reds as the only switch option. The keycaps have front-edge "sideprints" to let you know which keys have two functions. At $109.99, it's neither a budget pick nor a big personality.
Pros
- Lightweight design
- Cherry MX Reds as secondary inputs
- Easy to use
Cons
- Aura Creator is complex and convoluted
rtings[3]
Reviewer score 39% (normalized by Neofiliac)ASUS ROG Strix Scope TKL is a well-built keyboard that provides a great typing experience. It has macro-programmable keys, and its full RGB backlighting is great for those who like to work in the dark. Unfortunately, its latency is a bit high for a wired keyboard and might not be ideal for competitive gamers.
Pros
- Excellent build quality
- Full RGB backlighting
- Comfortable typing experience
- Great macro-programmable keys
Cons
- No customization software
- No wrist rest
- Some keys don't work on macOS
tomshardware[4]
Reviewer score 69% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Asus ROG Strix Scope TKL Electro Punk is a tenkeyless keyboard. Linear switches lack the tactility of their clicky and tactile counterparts. The keyboard offers some on-device controls that people who want to use Armoury Crate as little as possible will probably appreciate. If you need more desk space and quiet switches, go for an aluminum keyboard.
Pros
- Sleek, attractive design
- Tenkeyless switches are easy to use
Cons
- Lacks the tactility of clicky and tactile switches
- No wireless charging
trustedreviews[5]
Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)With its two-tone black and grey colouring, this keyboard looks aggressive and is likely to fit in well with avid gamers. It offers a clean finish, complete with a nicely placed Asus ROG logo in the top-right corner of the board. The keycaps are double-shot moulded with two pieces of plastic, which makes them especially hard-wearing. Asus goes with the tried-and-tested Cherry MX line, renowned for long life and reliability.
Pros
- Attractive design
- Excellent key switches
- Excellent build quality
Cons
- No macro keys
- No dedicated macro keys
