Product Overview

Dell Precision 7550 is a full-featured 15.6-inch mobile workstation engineered for professionals who demand uncompromising performance and stability on the go. Powered by 10th-gen Intel Core or Xeon processors with up to 128GB of non-ECC or ECC memory and up to NVIDIA Quadro RTX 5000 GPU with 16GB GDDR6, the Precision 7550 is a great option for engineers, designers, and data / AI scientists.
Design-wise, the new Precision 7550 loses the pointing stick that has adorned Precision mobile workstations for decades. In exchange, the side bezels have dramatically shrunk compared to its predecessor, the Precision 7540.

External Reviews

laptopmag[1]

Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
The Dell Precision 7550 has an Nvidia Quadro RTX 5000 graphics card. It can transcode a 4K video to 1080p while using the Handbrake benchmark. The webcam is located in the center of the top bezel, so the picture appears a little hazy. Dell Precision Optimizer allows you to adjust the performance in applications.
Pros
  • Gorgeous 4K display
  • Long battery life
  • Solid performance
Cons
  • No bloatware
  • Poor webcam

notebookcheck[2]

Reviewer score 65% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
The Precision 7550 is one of the heavier 15.6-inch workstations out there at 2.8 kg. Since the base is so dense, the keyboard keys are relatively quiet in clatter with both firm and uniform feedback. The touchpad is relatively small (10 x 6.5 cm), but it makes up for this with dedicated mouse buttons.
Pros
  • High-quality aluminum chassis
  • Fast Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity
  • Long battery life
Cons
  • Nothing in particular

pcmag[3]

Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Dell Precision 7550 fits into the top echelon of laptop workstations. Its raw speed and dazzling screen make the Precision a stellar choice for photo or video editing. Though designed for professional apps, the Dell's Quadro RTX 5000 Max-Q is more than fast enough to play demanding games.
Pros
  • Gorgeous, colorful screen
  • Excellent battery life
  • High-quality components
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 3 port
