Microsoft Surface Book 3 13.5-inch
2-in-1Product Gallery
Product Overview
Microsoft Surface Book 3 13.5 is a high-end 2-in-1 13.5-inch laptop with the unique set of flexibility pioneered by the original Surface Book. Powered by 10th-gen Intel Core Ice Lake processors, the Surface Book 3 13.5 delivers 50% more performance than its predecessor and up to 15.5 hours of battery life.
Compared to the larger 15-inch model, the Surface Book 3 13.5 can be purchased without the discrete GPU and is available with a lower maximum storage capacity. For those who plan on gaming on the device, the 13.5-inch model unfortunately loses the Xbox Wireless built-in found in the larger model.
Still, the Surface Book 3 13.5 is a powerful tablet with detachable touchscreen and a mobile workstation. With the Surface Pen and Surface Dial, it makes for three powerful device in one.

cnet[1]
Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)Microsoft's Surface Book 3 is a 13.5-inch laptop with a detaching display. The screen is exceptional, with a 3,000x2,000-pixel resolution and plenty of brightness. The Intel i5 and i7 chips used are 15w rather than the standard 45w versions.
Pros
- Beautiful 3:2 display
- Comfortable keyboard
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- No detaching display
- Only two hours of use
digitaltrends[2]
Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Microsoft Surface Book 3 has one of the best keyboards around. It has plenty of travel with a snappy feel that makes for a precise typing experience. It's as good a touchpad as you'll find on a Windows laptop, even though it's smaller than it could be given the available space on the keyboard deck.
Pros
- Unique design
- Strong performance
- Excellent keyboard and touchpad
- Great battery life
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 4
- No Thunderbolt 3
notebookcheck[3]
Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)During our test period, the Surface Book 3 13.5 system ran very smoothly. Applications were started quickly and there were no micro-stutters or similar. The design has the advantage that the keyboard and palm rest always remain pleasantly cool. The fans are almost completely deactivated in office use, which makes the Microsoft convertible well suited for use in noise-sensitive environments.
Pros
- Matte IPS display
- Good battery life
- Good keyboard and palm rest
Cons
- No SD card reader
- No Thunderbolt 3
theverge[4]
Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)There's not a ton in the way of gesture support, nor is there an impressive ecosystem for tablet-specific apps. Ports are another aspect of the chassis that's a bit out of date. The battery life is stellar; I got around nine hours and 45 minutes of a typical workday in Battery Saver.
Pros
- Slim bezels
- Excellent keyboard and touchpad
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- Wobbly display
- No Thunderbolt 3
