Product Overview

OnePlus 7T is a premium smartphone powered by Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset. Compared to the OnePlus 7 released 5 months earlier, it features a similar camera setup used in the OnePlus 7 Pro but retains the conventional, notched design of the base model.
Another premium feature carried over from the 7 Pro to the 7T is the 90Hz "Fluid AMOLED" display, while a larger, 3800mAh battery is employed. The new 30T fast charging is able to deliver 70% charge in just 30 minutes.
In terms of cameras, the 7T uses the same 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor found in the OnePlus 7. The same 48MP Sony IMX586 main sensor and 16MP ultra-wide sensor found in the 7 Pro, though a 12MP telephoto unit with 2X optical zoom is featured.
Next to the 7T, OnePlus also introduced the 7T Pro, which uses the same camera setup and the 1440p display of the 7 Pro.

External Reviews

androidauthority[1]

Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from androidauthority have found:
The OnePlus 7T has the better camera set up with a 48MP primary camera flanked by a 12MP telephoto shooter and a 16MP ultrawide camera. The OnePlus 8 replaced the 7T's telephoto lens with a 2MP macro camera. There are minor tradeoffs to be made between the two models, but by and large, OnePlus has done a great job of improving on the phone's camera tuning.
Pros
  • Excellent performance
  • Excellent battery life
  • Fast charging
Cons
  • No 5G support
  • No IP rating for water resistance

Reviewers from arstechnica have found:
The OnePlus 7T is a great phone; it's just not all that much different from the 7 Pro. With only a $70 price difference, you could really pick either one and be fine. The best thing OnePlus could do to make the device more useful is to add in an always-on display.
Pros
  • Fantastic 90Hz display
  • Good battery life
  • Fast charging
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • No always-on display

cnet[3]

Reviewer score 91% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from cnet have found:
The OnePlus 7T packs so much high-end hardware while remaining $150 cheaper than the Galaxy S10E. Compared to the Pixel 3 XL, the 7T is also newer, takes nighttime photos as good as the Pixel, and has more storage. If you're eyeing the OnePlus 7 Pro, and it's within your budget, I say go for it. It'll update to Android 10 "very, very soon" according to OnePlus.
Pros
  • Beautiful 90Hz display
  • Great low-light performance
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • No microSD card slot
  • No wireless charging

digitaltrends[4]

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
A 3,800mAh battery gives a day's worth of moderate use, with at least 20% remaining at the end of the night. It took less than 40 minutes to go from 17% to full, after I didn't charge the phone overnight. There is one version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space available, which might be a problem as there's no MicroSD card slot.
Pros
  • Excellent performance
  • Excellent camera
  • Excellent battery life
  • Fast charging
Cons
  • No MicroSD card slot
  • No wireless charging

gizmodo[5]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from gizmodo have found:
The OP7T has a flat display instead of the curvy 3D glass panel used on the OP7 Pro. It also has a notch for its selfie cam instead of a motorized pop-up. Sadly, after axing the headphone jack on its phones, it seems the days of getting 3.5mm jacks on OnePlus phones are gone for good.
Pros
  • 90Hz display with 90Hz refresh rate
  • Excellent battery life
  • 90Hz screen with 120Hz refreshrate
Cons
  • No headphone jack
  • No microSD card slot

ndtv[6]

Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from ndtv have found:
The OnePlus 7T's three cameras mean there's a lot of versatility when it comes to framing shots. The primary camera took the crispest shots, with loads of detail visible even at a distance. The telephoto camera also delivered surprisingly good results when light was favourable. We'd also like clearer instructions in the Portrait and Super Macro modes.
Pros
  • Excellent performance
  • Good battery life
  • Decent cameras
Cons
  • No microSD card slot
  • No IP rating

nextpit[7]

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from nextpit have found:
The OnePlus 7T has a large 3,800 mAh battery. The AMOLED display is very energy-intensive with its 90Hz refresh rate. On the back, the OnePus 7T's photo module is composed of a 48-megapixel main sensor. The wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle sensor duo is doing quite well.
Pros
  • Premium design
  • Good battery life
  • Good performance
Cons
  • Camera is not up to the industry's standards
  • No wireless charging

notebookcheck[8]

Reviewer score 82% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
Once again it's an AMOLED screen, which offers a slightly extended Full HD resolution at 2400x1080 pixels. With a very slim but elongated aspect ratio of 20:9, the OnePlus 7T approaches the CinemaScope format of 21:9. The controls over the display and the position sensor work without issues too. OnePlus has once again installed super-fast UFS 3.0 storage.
Pros
  • 90-Hz display
  • Fast UFS 3.0 storage
  • High-quality case
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • No IP certification

pcmag[9]

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The 7T's 4x4 MIMO capability can double LTE speeds in good-signal conditions. The phone also has Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and Wi-Fi 5 (not 6, like in recent Apple and Samsung phones) Call quality is fine, but the earpiece is a little picky.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Excellent performance
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Poor low-light photography
  • No wireless charging

phonearena[10]

Reviewer score 94% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from phonearena have found:
The 7T sports a Full HD AMOLED display with rich colors and the screen looks beautiful. You have two pre-set color options: vivid and natural, where the natural one features more toned down colors. The 7T features a brand new vibration motor that is much stronger than before and provides a sharper, more concise vibration feedback for all sorts of notifications.
Pros
  • Beautiful 90-hertz display
  • Great battery life
  • Great cameras
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • No headphone jack

techadvisor[11]

Reviewer score 93% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techadvisor have found:
There's 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage on the OnePlus 7T. There's no dedicated 5G variant of the smartphone, so you'll be stuck on your network's 4G LTE band. You'll also find a USB-C port for charging with built-in OTG support. The 3,800mAh battery can last a day with ease, even with tweeting, snapping photos and playing the odd game here and there.
Pros
  • 90Hz AMOLED display
  • 90Hz refresh rate
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • No 5G
  • No wireless charging

techradar[12]

Reviewer score 92% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The 6.55-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display boasts HDR 10+ and a 90Hz refresh rate. It's not as immersive and rich as the QHD+ display of the 7 Pro, but that's because you don't have the curved edges. The 7T's screen is excellent for watching movies and TV shows, and for playing games. There's a new Reading Mode that allows you to view in color, only in black and white.
Pros
  • Beautiful, bright screen
  • 90Hz refresh rate
  • HDR 10+ support
Cons
  • Not as immersive as the 7 Pro
  • No wireless charging

tomsguide[13]

Reviewer score 88% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The 7T put in 8 hours and 47 minutes of work in Tom's Guide's custom battery test. OxygenOS 10.0 is based on Android 10, so you also get all the improvements there. The optical reader underneath the 7T's display is the fastest and most consistent I've encountered yet in a smartphone.
Pros
  • Beautiful 90Hz AMOLED display
  • Excellent battery life
  • Decent cameras
Cons
  • No wireless charging
  • Short battery life

trustedreviews[14]

Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The OnePlus 7T has a triple sensor rear camera that combines the same 48-megapixel Sony sensor seen on the OnePlus 7. The biggest improvements relate to how the camera performs in low light and when capturing macro shots. OnePlus claims macro mode lets you shoot shots at distances of just 2.5cm. The camera also lets you take wide angle shots, which is great for nature scenes and holiday photos. Video recording is great thanks to the addition of optical image stabilisation (OIS)
Pros
  • Fantastic 90Hz AMOLED screen
  • Good battery life
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • No IP rating
  • No wireless charging

whathifi[15]

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from whathifi have found:
The 7T has an impressive screen performance for a mid-market handset. It eclipses the Pixel 3a XL's display performance with a more realistically-hued palette and crisper delivery. The main snapper is the same 48MP Sony IMX586 lens (complete with optical image stabilisation) found in the 7 and 7 Pro. Dolby Atmos support works to create a virtual surround sound from the 7T's built-in speakers.
Pros
  • Impressive screen performance
  • Excellent battery life
  • Excellent performance
Cons
  • No headphone jack
  • No wireless charging

wired[16]

Reviewer score 91% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from wired have found:
The OnePlus 7T is one of the most powerful phones you can buy. With stereo speakers and a gaming mode, it's an ideal machine for playing Mario Kart. There's no audio jack (and no adapter in the box), but OnePlus sells an adapter for $13. The 7T will give you a taste of the luxuries you'd otherwise miss out on.
Pros
  • Fantastic performance
  • Excellent battery life
  • Good cameras
Cons
  • No MicroSD slot
  • No headphone jack
