OnePlus 7 Pro

Product Overview
OnePlus 7 Pro is a flagship smartphone powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset. Compared to the OnePlus 7, it is noted for the notch-less, all-screen design that wraps the gorgeous 6.67-inch OLED display on all sides.
This feat is enabled by the pop-up front camera: while the same 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor founded in the base model is employed, the OnePlus 7 Pro has it hidden in a motorized mechanism for a cleaner design.
The 7 Pro features up to 12GB of LPDDR4X memory and 256GB of internal storage. Its Fluid AMOLED display is 1440p in resolution and refreshes at 90Hz. Further, the three-camera setup in the rear make the 7 Pro a compelling option for smartphone photographers. These details together differentiate the 7 Pro from the base OnePlus 7.
Indeed, the OnePlus 7 is the first generation where a "Pro" model is marketed next to a base one.

anandtech[1]
Reviewer score 67% (normalized by Neofiliac)The front-facing pop-up camera is a good module, but personally I do think the added weight, internal complexity as well as longevity risk are too big compromises. The telephoto module was in my opinion good, and got surprisingly very sharp results. Speakers on the OnePlus 7 Pro have massively improved compared to its predecessor, so credit where it's due even though they don't quite match Apple or Samsung's offerings.
Pros
- Fantastic 90Hz display
- Good battery life
- Good cameras
Cons
- No wireless charging
- No 120Hz refresh rate
- Poor low-light camera performance
arstechnica[2]
Reviewer score 94% (normalized by Neofiliac)The OnePlus 7 Pro is the fastest Android phone on Earth. The 90Hz display, fast touch latency, optimized software, and Qualcomm's fastest SoC all combine to give you buttery-smooth UI performance. The pop-up camera elegantly eliminates notches, hole punches, and whatever other compromises have been forced on the market.
Pros
- The best 90Hz display on the market
- Fingerprint reader is fast
- 90Hz display is amazing
Cons
- No wireless charging
- No always-on display
cnet[3]
Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)At £549 in the UK (with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, as reviewed), it sits below the £699-equivalent 7 Pro. You do lose some of the pizzazz of the Pro with that extra money you're saving, but the additional power makes it a better option over the older 6T. The OnePlus 7 is not currently available in either the US or Australia.
Pros
- Great value for money
- Great battery life
Cons
- No ultrawide camera
- No wireless charging
digitaltrends[4]
Reviewer score 90% (normalized by Neofiliac)The face unlock feature is a great addition, and is quickly usable despite the camera needing to pop up first. Audio is a high point. There are stereo speakers — one on the bottom, and an oversized speaker at the top of the device facing forward. There's no headphone jack, but Bluetooth has AptX HD for the best possible quality when playing compatible content. Once again, the OnePlus 7 Pro does not have an IP rating.
Pros
- Big, bright screen
- Excellent camera
- Fast software updates
- Great battery life
Cons
- No IP rating
- No headphone jack
gizmodo[5]
Reviewer score 92% (normalized by Neofiliac)In a side-by-side food shot comparison, the OP7 Pro fell a bit short on sharpness, contrast, and color saturation to both the Pixel 3 and Galaxy S10. The more significant issue for the OnePlus 7 is when it comes to low light. Without its Nightscape mode turned on, photos taken in darker environments come out looking soft.
Pros
- Beautiful all-screen display
- Sleek design
- Great performance
- Great battery life
Cons
- Low-light photos look soft and grainy
- Pop-up camera is a bit slow
gsmarena[6]
Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)The OnePlus 7 Pro is significantly cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10+. The iPhone XS Max is the most expensive competitor, coming in at nearly twice the price of the 7 Pro. The 7 Pro offers an experience closer to the Google Pixel 3 XL. If top-end performance isn't your priority, perhaps the Pixel 3a XL could be worth checking out.
Pros
- Fast performance
- Great camera
- Great battery life
Cons
- No microSD card slot
- No wireless charging
nextpit[7]
Reviewer score 93% (normalized by Neofiliac)Despite the updates the OnePlus 7 Pro doesn't reach the quality of a Huawei P30 Pro or a Samsung Galaxy Note10 yet. You can rarely complain about the performance of a OnePlus smartphone. The built-in hardware and the very well-tuned OxygenOS, which is close to Stock Android, make sure that you hardly yearn for a different or faster smartphone in everyday use.
Pros
- Bright 90 Hertz display
- Good battery life
- Fast charging
Cons
- No wireless fast charging
- No fingerprint sensor
notebookcheck[8]
Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)The 7 Pro is the first smartphone that you can purchase with UFS 3.0 flash storage. Its fast internal storage helps the system deliver excellent benchmark results. The integrated Adreno 640 GPU holds its own in benchmarks too, and is powerful enough even for the most complex of apps. OnePlus has developed a device with stereo speakers.
Pros
- Bright 90 Hz display
- Good battery life
- Fast SoC
- Decent cameras
Cons
- Display could be brighter

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)If you're in the market for a big, new phone, it's impossible to find better value. The gorgeous screen, killer speed, and notchless design make for a powerful, luxurious smartphone experience. The OnePlus 7 Pro is by far the best value for a premium smartphone on the market today.
Pros
- Sleek, premium design
- Gorgeous screen
- Superb low-light performance
Cons
- No notch
- No headphone jack
techadvisor[10]
Reviewer score 88% (normalized by Neofiliac)There's NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 (with aptX HD support), and stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. 30W Warp Charging also means it'll top up fast - it managed to get 64 percent of its battery back in just half an hour when charging from empty. There's a built-in screen recorder in case you want to share footage direct from your phone. Gaming mode has had an upgrade to give more granular notification controls.
Pros
- Fantastic performance
- Great camera
- Great battery life
Cons
- No always-on display
- No wireless charging
techradar[11]
Reviewer score 92% (normalized by Neofiliac)The OnePlus 7 Pro is close to pure Android, it has fun software extras, and it's easy to use. It's among the fastest Android phones we've tested, tied with the LG G8 and nearly as fast as the Samsung Galaxy S10 series. The RAM boost, cooling system and enhanced vibrations combine to make this a solid gaming phone. The world's first phone with UFS 3.0 storage.
Pros
- Fast Snapdragon 855 SoC
- Impressive battery life
- Excellent cameras
Cons
- No microSD slot
- No wireless charging
tomsguide[12]
Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)OnePlus 7 Pro has Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 CPU, which powers all of 2019's premium flagships. It's right up there with the $999/£999 iPhone XS (11,420) and its A12 Bionic processor. For an extra $30/£50, you can snag 8GB of RAM.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Fantastic performance
- Fast fingerprint sensor
Cons
- Battery life could be better
- No headphone jack
trustedreviews[13]
Reviewer score 91% (normalized by Neofiliac)The 7 Pro’s large footprint means it can carry a hefty 4000mAh battery. With the included Warp Charger, that cell can be refilled from flat to full in under an hour and twenty. While quick in their own right, OnePlus’ fast-charging capabilities are no longer industry-leading; Huawei has instead taken that crown. This phone is undoubtedly feature-packed, the richest the company has ever made, but its higher price warrants greater scrutiny.
Pros
- Gorgeous display
- Impressive battery life
- Fast charging
Cons
- No wireless charging
- No water resistance
whathifi[14]
Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)The OnePlus 7 Pro doesn't have the sonic spaciousness, subtlety or rhythmic knack of the iPhone XS Max, XS or even the 8 Plus. But by smartphone standards it still makes for a reasonably entertaining and insightful listen. The rear triple-lens arrangement is headed up by a 48MP main snapper, accompanied by a 16MP wide-angle lens and 8MP telephoto lens. There's a 3x optical zoom too.
Pros
- Gorgeous, curved-edge Gorilla Glass screen
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- No headphone jack
- No IP rating
wired[15]
Reviewer score 89% (normalized by Neofiliac)Despite its large size, there's no headphone jack and no adapter in the box. The 7 Pro takes some very nice photos, though. The 16-megapixel front camera pops out with a nice motorized sound when you flip to selfie mode. You have to dig into settings to even set up the camera to save photos at a high resolution.
Pros
- Beautiful AMOLED display
- Good battery life
- Good cameras
Cons
- No headphone jack
- No microSD card slot
