Product Overview
Huawei Mate X2 is the company's latest dual-screen foldable smartphone. Sharing much of the same features with the Mate 40 Pro+, the Mate X2 boasts an 8-inch flexible OLED internal display and an 6.45-inch OLED external display that have touch sampling rates of 180Hz and 240Hz respectively.
Compared to the previous-gen Mate Xs, the Mate X2 now folds inwards in the same fashion as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2. Like the latter, the Mate X2 also comes with screens both inside and outside. The Mate X2 also have an improved camera setup and the latest Kirin 9000 chipset.
The Kirin 9000 Series SoC now comes with over 15.3 billion transistors. Its powerful CPU features a three-level power efficiency architecture with cores running at clock frequencies of up to 3.13GHz. The 24-core Mali-G78 GPU is the most powerful GPU ever found in a Huawei device, enough to power the 90Hz display with 240Hz touch sampling rate at ease. It is also prominently featured in the new Mate 40 Pro / Pro+.
Moreover, the Mate X2 also comes with the 8MP camera with 10x optical zoom found in the Mate 40 Pro+.

Reviewer score 91% (normalized by Neofiliac)Unfold the Huawei Mate X2 and the real fun begins. The 6.45-inch 90Hz OLED panel has 2,700 x 1,160 resolution (456ppi) Apps are displayed at normal aspect ratios, even in split-screen mode. There's still no support for Google apps here, unfortunately.
Pros
- Foldable design
- Excellent battery life
- Solid performance
Cons
- No Google apps
gsmarena[2]
Reviewer score 86% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Mate X2 can record video at up to 4K@60 fps across pretty much all of its cameras. Except for the selfie cam, which tops out at 1080p and the typical limitation of the ultrawide to 30fps. There is no 8K support whatsoever, which we frankly don't see as a real downside, given that 8K is mostly a useless flex on a smartphone.
Pros
- Top-notch camera performance
- Good battery life
- Good value for money
Cons
- No 8K support
- Wobbly main camera
- No wireless charging
