Product Overview

ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 (UX482) is a flagship, ultra-thin dual-screen laptop powered by 11th-gen Intel Core Tiger Lake CPU. The UX482 boasts not only a FHD IPS display with 100% sRGB coverage but also a secondary FHD display in the form of ScreenPad Plus.
The ASUS ZenBook Duo 14 breaks with the conventional clam shell laptop design with a full-width ScreenPad Plus and a touchpad / numpad that resides to the right of the keyboard. This ScreenPad Plus is compatible with the bundled 2nd-gen ASUS Pen, offering 4096 pressure levels.
Thanks to the dual-screen form factor, the ZenBook Pro 14 offers superior cooling, thanks to the elevated secondary display. This feature also improves the device's ergonomics.
Last but not least, the UX482 is encased in a magnesium-aluminum alloy chassis and has passed MIL-STD 810H durability standard. Nevertheless, the entire device measures under 0.7 inch (17mm) thin.
Alongside the 14-inch model, ASUS also markets the 15-inch UX582. Thanks to the 11th-gen Tiger Lake processor, the UX482 also comes with Thunderbolt 4 rather than Thunderbolt 3 founded in the 15-inch model.

laptopmag[1]

Sentiment Score 79%
Reviewers from laptopmag have found the following***:
The ZenBook Duo hits a stable 30 frames per second on Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Gathering Storm at 1080p. The base model saw a one-hour improvement over last year with an impressive 10 hours and 37 minutes of battery life with both panels turned on. Pictures are either very grainy or soft, lacking detail on my face.

Pros
  • Excellent dual-screen performance
  • Good battery life
  • Comfortable keyboard and trackpad
Cons
  • Mediocre webcam
  • No wireless charging

notebookcheck[2]

Sentiment Score 72%
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found the following***:
The UX482 is easier to use for multi-tasking while being noticeably thinner, lighter, and faster than the model preceding it. In our review of the ZenBook Duo UX481, we criticized the ScreenPad for its poor viewing angles relative to the user. There is still some glare from the tilted ScreenPad meaning colors and brightness will almost always be inferior to the main display.

Pros
  • Slim and lighter than the UX481
  • Slim, lighter, and more ergonomic design
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • ScreenPad can be uncomfortable to type on without a large desk
  • Loud backlight bleeding

pcmag[3]

Sentiment Score 80%
Reviewers from pcmag have found the following***:
Asus' dual-screen Duo efforts have so far been impressive, and the twin-panel design is especially slick in a 14-inch form factor. Having two screens in such a compact build is a feat that seems like it shouldn't quite be possible, but here it is. The ZenBook Duo 14's respectable 11-hour battery life is still at the back of the pack.

Pros
  • Sleek twin-screen design
  • Good battery life
  • Excellent dual-screen display
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 3 port

t3[4]

Sentiment Score 75%
Reviewers from t3 have found the following***:
The Asus ZenBook Duo 14 is superbly built, very well finished, and at the more stylish end of the spectrum. It packs in some top-notch internal components and offers a very respectable amount of battery considering it's got two screens to power up. It does get loud occasionally though, and professional creatives are likely to be looking for a display than this can offer. There are no major problems when it comes to the Asus Zen Book Duo 14.

Pros
  • Superb build quality
  • Excellent performance
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • Second display is a bit awkward to use
  • Keyboard and trackpad are awkwardly positioned

techradar[5]

Sentiment Score 87%
Reviewers from techradar have found the following***:
The Asus ZenBook Duo 14 UX482E looks and feels like a premium laptop. Intel Evo laptops must also have thin bezels around the screen, Wi-Fi 6, offer over nine hours of battery life, and wake up in less than a second. A dual-fan design to keeps the components cool, along with a body that opens up to allow for better cooling, mean this laptop can get noisy.

Pros
  • Superb battery life
  • Excellent dual-screen screen
  • Excellent performance
Cons
  • ScreenPad Plus isn’t for everyone

The Asus ZenBook Duo 14 has an Intel Evo 11th Gen Core i7-1165G7 processor. On Geekbench 5.3, it posted a score of 5,330, while the MacBook Air (M1, 16GB of RAM) ran circles around it. The laptop lasted 10 hours and 37 minutes, which isn't too far off the XPS 13 (11:07)

Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Good battery life
  • Comfortable keyboard
  • Good performance
Cons
  • ScreenPad Plus is a bit cramped
  • No Thunderbolt 3

tomshardware[7]

Reviewers from tomshardware have found the following***:
Asus' ZenBook Duo 14 UX482 is the best dual-screen laptop available. The laptop comes with the usual Windows bloat, like Spotify and links to Hulu. As someone who spends more time working with text than videos or images, I can't fully get behind the compromised keyboard and touchpad.

Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Comfortable keyboard
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Keyboard and touchpad are compromised
  • Only one-year warranty

trustedreviews[8]

Sentiment Score 81%
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found the following***:
The ZenBook Duo looks rather ugly when opened up, but the thin screen bezel and glossy blue lid are undeniably classy. Asus has managed to fit in an abundance of ports, too, with USB-A, 2 x USB-C, HDMI, headphone jack and a microSD card all present. A webcam offering so-so video quality sits above the main display, with a kill switch on the keyboard allowing you to cut the feed.

Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Excellent ScreenPad performance
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No 4K display option
  • ScreenPad isn’t for everyone
