Product Overview

Razer BlackShark V2 X is the affordable version of the BlackShark V2, using a non-titanium version of the Razer TriForce 50mm driver and relies solely on the 3.5mm jack and dropping the USB DAC.
Like the standard BlackShark V2, the BlackShark V2 X's 50mm drivers are able to separate the audio frequencies and allow for the individual tuning of the high, mid and low ranges, resulting in clearer trebles, a rich midrange and powerful bass. They are complemented by THX Sptial Audio that delivers pinpoint accuracy and lifelike, immersive in-game sound that is compatible with stereo, 5.1 and 7.1 sources.
The BlackShark V2 X's HyperClear Cardioid Mic has been tuned for a more focused voice pick-up area, eliminating sounds from the back and sides for speech clarity. The additional USB Sound Card provides advanced microphone controls for even further tuning.
Unlike the standard BlackShark V2, the V2 X uses standard memory foam earpads.

rtings[1]

Reviewer score 18% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Razer BlackShark V2 X are passable for neutral sound. Depending on the headphones' fit, positioning, and placement on your head, you may experience inconsistent bass or treble delivery. Their average response is a bit bass-heavy and dark, which can be suited for action-packed games with a lot of explosions.
Pros
  • Comfortable and stable fit
  • Outstanding noise isolation performance
  • Great build quality
Cons
  • Sub-par noise isolation
  • No companion software
  • Limited controls

Reviewer score 75% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
The BlackShack V2 X is an excellent way to try out successful new drivers from a reputable gaming brand, as well as virtual 7.1 surround, without spending a lot. The leatherette and memory foam earcups are designed with passive noise cancellation, covering your ears to allow for better sound isolation. Mic quality was not as good as on my Audio-Technica AT2020 desktop mic, of course.
Pros
  • Excellent build quality
  • Comfortable fit
  • Vibrant 7.1 surround sound
Cons
  • Nothing in particular
