Product Overview
Dell Latitude 5420 is a premium 14-inch business laptop powered by 11th-gen Intel Core Tiger Lake mobile processors. A mid-range 5000-series unit, the Latitude 5420 offers some high-end features but retains a conservative design.
The most notable feature brought by this generation of the Latitude 5000 is the inclusion of two Thunderbolt 4 ports. They double as DisplayPort and offer the fastest transfer rate available.
The Latitude 5420 also comes with optional WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and LTE mobile broadband connectivity, empowering mobile computing.
Design-wise the new 5420 is more compact than the 5410 and comes with a larger touchpad.
Alongside the 14-inch 5420, Dell also refreshed the 13.3-inch 5320 and 15.6-inch 5520 in its Latitude 5000-series at CES 2021.

notebookcheck[2]
Reviewer score 67% (normalized by Neofiliac)Dell has done a great job of optimizing power draw: It is low during idle (3-8 watts) and allowed to be demanding under load. The Latitude can only be charged with a USB type-C power adapter such as the included 65-watt charger. Instead of mouse buttons and a Trackpoint, the Latitude offers a clickpad with haptics so poor.
Pros
- Excellent upgradeability
- Excellent battery life
- Excellent maintenance options
Cons
- No LTE modem
- Poor clickpad
- No USB Type-C
