Cambridge Audio SX-80
Floorstanding LoudspeakerProduct Gallery

Product Overview
Cambridge Audio SX-80 is a floorstanding loudspeaker in the company's entry-level SX-series designed for price-sensitive consumers for home theatre applications.
The SX-series loudspeakers are compact models finished in matte black, making them easy to fit into tighter spaces without visual intrusion. In consideration of its target market, Cambridge Audio made efforts to ensure that the speakers are easy to drive, perhaps by an affordable AV receiver.
The SX-series speakers share a 1-inch (25mm) silk dome tweeter with treated paper cone woofers of various sizes. The dedicated foam damper behind the tweeter diaphragm reduces reflections and helps to create a wide soundstage, while the woofer magnet system is optimized to deliver deep, punchy bass with high efficiency.
Other models in the SX-series include two bookshelf speakers, SX-50 and SX-60, a center channel speaker, SX-70, and a subwoofer, SX-120.

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)Cambridge Audio's SX-80 floorstander is an excellent value for money. It has a solid grasp of timing, smooth but detailed treble and a midrange of efficient expression considering the speaker's price. More low-end volume would have better served club anthems and drum and bass tracks, but it proved admirably capable.

- Gorgeous, detailed sound
- Excellent build quality
