Product Overview

Cambridge Melomania Touch follows the success of the Melomania 1, trading noise cancellation for larger, Graphene-enhanced drivers and longer playback time.
The Melomania Touch is designed to fit in your ears comfortably and securely for long listening sessions. To this end, it comes with a large selection of silicone tips and fins to ensure a proper fit for every owner.
The Melomania Touch has a transparency mode that uses the microphones to let ambient sound in, making conversations and awareness easy without removing the earphones.

digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
Cambridge Audio Melomania Touch connect using Bluetooth 5.0. The earbuds are controlled using touch panels, and the functionality can be configured in the app. In low power mode, listening time goes to nine hours, compared to seven hours in high-performance mode. The lack of active noise cancellation is really just a spec list problem.
Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Long battery life
  • Easy to use app
Cons
  • No active noise cancellation

laptopmag[2]

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
At $129, the Melomania Touch is worth the price based on battery life and sound alone. High Performance Audio uses the same hi-fi grade amplification technology as the company's CX range of stereo amps. The cVc noise-cancelling mic doesn't completely block out noise or enhance clarity.
Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Excellent battery life
  • Easy to use app
Cons
  • Battery life could be better
  • Poor call quality

Reviewers from pcmag have found:
Cambridge Audio's Melomania app for Android and iOS is generally well designed. The earphones are compatible with Bluetooth 5.0 and support AAC, AptX, and SBC codecs. Battery life is estimated to be roughly 9 hours, with an 40 extra hours in the charging case.
Pros
  • Excellent audio performance
  • Good battery life
  • Good noise cancellation
Cons
  • No water-resistance rating
  • App can be a bit invasive

Reviewers from techadvisor have found:
The Cambridge Audio Melomania Touch are an excellent pair of wireless earbuds. Like the original, they are one of the best pairs I've tested. There is a Transparency Mode which uses the microphones also used for calls to allow the ambient sound into your ears. The highlight has to be the equaliser, which has six different presets like Bass Boost and Rock. You can adjust the sound with the graph, with five sliders and save three different custom settings.
Pros
  • Great sound quality
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • No active noise cancelling
  • No transparency mode

techradar[5]

Reviewer score 79% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
Cambridge Audio Melomania Touch come with an IPX4 water-resistance rating. Bluetooth 5 connectivity means these buds should hold a stable connection with your devices. AAC and aptX codec support means they shouldn't have any issue with streaming high-quality audio over a wireless connection.
Pros
  • Great sound quality
  • Touch-sensitive earbuds
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • Touch controls can be hit and miss

trustedreviews[6]

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The Melomania Touch are Cambridge’s first wireless headphones. The earbuds are covered in a soft, premium microfibre leather. The case offers a further 41 hours for a total of 50. Siri and Google Assistant are the voice aids of choice, but you can call up Alexa if your phone supports it, too.
Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Sound quality isn’t as good as the Melomania 1

whathifi[7]

Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from whathifi have found:
Cambridge Audio's new Melomania Touch earbuds offer a potentially class-leading proposition at the level of sound quality. Fans of the original will find much to enjoy sonically in the updated model. The design is comfortable, the app offers plenty of customisable tweaks over the originals, and the sound is everything we remember from the original. Sadly, the fact that we had to perform resets of the buds themselves and had to relaunch the app to complete the promised audio functions means we're unable to recommend them confidently.
Pros
  • Well-designed app
  • Excellent battery life
  • Comfortable fit
Cons
  • No aptX HD support
