Product Overview

Wharfedale Elysian 4 is 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker that share many features with the EVO4.4 in the company's Elysian-series, which is the higher-end alternative to the EVO4.
The Elysian 4 features an AMT tweeter: unlike conventional domes, the AMT unit is more efficient and accurate. The midrange driver in the Elysian 4 is made of woven glass fiber matrix cone that is lighter and stronger, reproducing voices and instruments with high degree of realism. Elysian 4's twin 220mm bass drivers are able to delve into the lower frequencies without distortion.
The Elysian-series features a sophisticated crossover network that ensures seamless integration between the drivers, while the cabinets are designed not only to reflect the quality of the loudspeakers but also to enhance the acoustic output of the drivers.
Wharfedale also markets a bookshelf speaker in the Elysian series, Elysian 2, which shares much of the feature and design elements with the Elysian 4.

Reviewers from whathifi have found:
The Wharfedale's sound is full of detail, which is organised in a natural and intuitive way. They have the insight and delicacy to bring Ólafur Arnalds' Found Songs album to life. Feed them a bright and aggressive recording such as Bruce Springsteen's Terry's Song and they won't hide the rough edges.
Pros
  • Impressive build quality
  • Impressive dynamics
  • Decent build quality
Cons
  • Lack of finesse or subtlety
