Product Overview

Canon PIXMA G6020 (G6050) is an all-in-one printer in the MegaTank-series of inkjet printers. Designed for home office and small business, its continuous ink supply system (CISS) delivers a yield of 6000 black pages and 7700 color pages for each refill, driving down the operating cost significantly.
Essentially, the PIXMA G6020 / G6050 is the higher-end G7020 / G7050 minus the ADF and the fax function. Canon also markets the PIXMA G5020 / G5050 that further drops the scanner. For select markets, the GM4050 and GM2050 monochrome printers are also available.

External Reviews

pcmag[1]

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The G6020 produces excellent print quality, with well-shaped, clearly legible text at all point sizes. The real benefit of most of the models discussed in this review is that their per-page printing costs are extremely low. If you don't need to make multipage copies or don't mind scanning each page at a time, the Canon Pixma is an excellent choice.
Pros
  • Excellent print quality
  • Low running costs
  • Supports ADF and ADF scanning
Cons
  • Bulky and heavy

rtings[2]

Reviewer score 64% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Canon PIXMA G6020 is a good family printer. It has an outstanding ink tank system that can yield a lot of black and color pages. Its color accuracy is sub-par, but printed photos look good in general. The scanner lacks an automatic document feeder, so scanning multi-page documents can take a while.
Pros
  • Outstanding ink tank system
  • Excellent connectivity options
  • Great print quality
  • Superb mobile app
  • Incredibly cheap ink tanks
  • Very well-built
Cons
  • Sub-par color accuracy
  • No automatic document feeder
  • Not the fastest printer

tomsguide[3]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomsguide have found:
The Pixma G6020 keeps printing costs extremely low by using refillable ink tanks. A bottle of pigment black ink sells for $17.99 and lasts an estimated 6,000 pages. The three color inks cost $11.99 per bottle, and print an estimated 7,700 pages. Printing and scanning from a Windows PC is smooth sailing.
Pros
  • Low initial cost
  • High image quality
  • Two paper trays
  • Easy to set up
Cons
  • No ADF
