Product Overview

Dell Inspiron 7506 is a flagship 2-in-1 convertible laptop in the company's consumer laptop lineup. Unlike its same-generation clamshell sibling, the 7501, the Inspiron 7506 is powered by 11th-gen Intel Core processors and supports Thunderbolt 4.
Available in two colors, the Inspiron 7506 is really two models in one: the Platinum Silver version supports active pen and Microsoft Pen Protocol 1.5, while the Element Black model comes built-in with an active pen and supports the latest Microsoft Pen Protocol 2.0. The Element Black version also comes with an IR camera that, together with the integrated fingerprint reader, offers Windows Hello and other security features.
With Thunderbolt 4, WiFi 6, and fast PCIe NVMe SSD combined with Intel Optane memory, the Inspiron 7506 packs a punch at an attractive price point.
Dell also offers a larger, 17-inch model, the Inspiron 7706.

Sentiment Score 55%
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found the following***:
The new Inspiron 7506 2-in-1 is slightly smaller in length and width while being slightly thicker by almost a millimeter. The typing experience is not as crisp as on the Dell XPS or HP Spectre. 4K UHD video playback at 60 FPS is otherwise smooth albeit imperfect with 16 dropped frames during our minute-long test.

Pros
  • High-quality aluminum chassis
  • Good battery life
  • Decent performance for a 15.6-inch laptop
Cons
  • Lid flexes more easily than on the XPS 15

pcmag[2]

Sentiment Score 68%
Reviewers from pcmag have found the following***:
Dell's Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 is a large-screen laptop that converts into a tablet. The upgraded Iris Xe graphics and latest Intel processor technology mean that this laptop performs about in the middle of the pack. It's not quite as fast on processor-intensive workflows as AMD-based systems like the Asus VivoBook Flip 14 or the Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14.

Pros
  • Large, high-quality 2-in-1
  • Good battery life
  • Comfortable keyboard
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 3 port

pcmag[3]

Sentiment Score 72%
Reviewers from pcmag have found the following***:
The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2-1 Black Edition is a decent choice for digital artists. It's a large digital canvas for artists or other creative types who like to interact with their laptops the way they would pen and paper. Most people looking for a 15-inch convertible notebook would be better served by the Spectre x360 15.

Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Slim bezels
  • Bright 4K display
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Lackluster graphics performance
  • No dedicated stylus

t3[4]

Sentiment Score 43%
Reviewers from t3 have found the following***:
The Inspiron 7506 is too big and much too heavy to use comfortably in one hand, so it can't double up as a regular tablet. The keyboard feels weird when gripped for support, and it doesn't lock in the tablet position, so you're always worrying about the hinge opening up a bit. The Thunderbolt 4 port provides a lot of flexibility for high-end connectivity, if you need it. For a machine running modest specs from the latest generation, battery life is just a little disappointing.

Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Bright 1080p screen
  • Good build quality
Cons
  • Poor battery life
  • No stylus

Reviewers from techradar have found the following***:
The Dell Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 Black Edition (7506) comes with an 11th-gen i7-1165G7 and Intel's Iris Xe MAX graphics under the hood. It's a competent chip with great single-core and dual-core performance, but it's never going to be as powerful as Intel's Tiger Lake H-series. The cooling system is good, though the laptop can get noticeably hot underneath when you're playing games and its fans get louder.

Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Comfortable keyboard
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Mediocre performance
  • No Thunderbolt 3
