Product Overview

ZEISS ZX1 is a long-awaited all-in-one full-frame, fixed-lens camera by the storied marque. It matches a new ZEISS Distagon 35mm lens with a full-frame, high-resolution camera that supports internal editing and comes with a range of social media and cloud functionalities.
The Distagon 35mm f/2 lens is one of the few autofocus lenses in ZEISS's lineup. The removal of the lens mount ensures that the lens and the 37.4MP full-frame sensor are perfectly matched. The camera's 512GB internal SSD is aided with wired (USB-C) and wireless (WiFi, Bluetooth) connectivity options as well as support for cloud.
With its 4.3-inch multi-touch display, ZEISS allows photographers to edit their images directly in camera using Adobe Lightroom. With the purchase of this camera, a 1-year Lightroom subscription and 1TB of cloud storage are included.

Reviewers from dpreview have found:
The Zeiss ZX1 has key features to appeal to those looking to quickly and easily shoot, edit and share high-quality content from a single device. It's far from being a camera for the masses, and after spending so much time with it, I'm not entirely convinced that it's much more than a nice camera. The AF system is clunky and occasionally unreliable, the 4K video has tons of rolling shutter and a substantial crop.
Pros
  • Impressive 4K video quality
  • Stylish, ergonomic design
  • Excellent ergonomics
Cons
  • Lackluster image quality
  • Unreliable AF system
