Microsoft has updated the Surface Pro X with the Microsoft SQ 2 second generation custom ARM chip, a new Platinum finish option, and new color choices for the Surface Pro X Keyboard.
These updates also lead to an improved battery life that now extends to 15 hours of typical usage as well as growing app support for Windows on ARM, including the newly optimized Microsoft 365 applications.
The Surface Pro X represents a departure from previous iterations of Microsoft Surface Pro line of tablet computers both in terms of exterior design and architecture: The 13-inch PixelSense display is surrounded by thin bezels, and the device has been the thinnest Surface Pro yet. Microsoft has also chosen to include a custom ARM chip in place of the traditional Intel processors.
The Surface Pro X is an always connected device, thanks to its LTE connectivity. FHD front-facing camera, 4K rear-facing camera, and improved audio performance make it a great option for multimedia and video conferencing applications.

The Pro X's real target audience is business users who want something that's portable, responsive, and has great longevity. If you're looking for a real all-rounder, Microsoft says the Surface Pro 7 will be a better fit.

The tablet's 5-megapixel front-facing camera was so sharp that I could see pores on my skin. Microsoft jumped the gun with the SQ1, which offers middling performance on top of app-compatibility issues.

Microsoft’s slate offers two USB-C ports and a special Surface Connector. The two good cameras are a big strength of the Surface Pro X. The slate only supports applications from the Microsoft Store and 32-bit programmes.

Windows Hello works swiftly and reliably to log you in. A 30-minute charge will boost the battery by around 35% - just about enough for half a day's work.

However, it dropped the headphone jack to achieve that thinness, and that's a really tough pill to swallow. The Surface Pen Slim feels just as pleasing and accurate to doodle and draw with.

This $999 detachable is also a direct competitor to the iPad Pro that steals a trick from Apple. It features the expected built-in stand and a custom SQ1 CPU designed in partnership with Qualcomm. Just be prepared to spend a lot once you add the keyboard and pen.
