Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)Fujifilm is adding Instax Square Monochrome film to its catalog, priced at $14.99 per pack of 10 shots. It's a little bit more than you'll pay for the standard color film, but it's worth if you like to work in black and white. The SQ1 doesn't try to get fancy with digital features, menus, or a display.
Pros
- Easy to use
- Quick, easy-to-use autofocus
- In-camera editing tools
Cons
- No black-and-white materials

Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)Fujifilm Instax SQ1 is a new middle ground in its instant camera range. It combines the ease of use of Fuji's more basic models with larger, square format film. The fixed focus lens makes the SQ1 best suited to portraits and middle-distance subjects. It's hard to beat for sheer value, filling a gap between the basic Instax Mini 11 and the more advanced SQ6.
Pros
- Simple to use
- Large, square format film
- Easy-to-use autofocus system
Cons
- Limited to Instax Mini film
trustedreviews[3]
Reviewer score 70% (normalized by Neofiliac)Instax SQ1 is the brand’s latest instant camera, offering a good starting point in the range. There are no settings, no control over the flash and only a duo of shooting modes. This camera uses the Instax Square film (62mm x 62mm image area) which is larger than the film used by the cheaper Mini range of Instax cameras.
Pros
- Easy to use
- Large Instax film
- Auto-exposure
Cons
- Small viewfinder
- Battery life could be better
