Sennheiser HD 800 S Anniversary Edition is the limited-edition variant of the company's audiophile headphones HD 800 S, which are circumaural (over-ear) dynamic headphones that employ an open design capable of delivering a broad frequency response from 4 to 51,000 Hz.
The diaphragm of the HD 800 S’ 56-mm transducers is made of Sennheiser’s patented duofol-transducer material to ensure exact music reproduction and reduction of resonances, keeping the THD to less than 0.02%. Further, Sennheiser's absorber technology reduces the "masking effect", whereby the human ear is less sensitive to higher frequencies but perceives lower frequencies as louder.
Handmade in Germany, the HD 800 S Anniversary Edition features glass-fiber strengthened plastic housing and soft vegan velour earpads.

Reviewer score 27%The Sennheiser HD 800s have one of the best audio reproduction that we've measured so far. They have a well-balanced mid-range that isn't too forward sounding with instruments and vocals. Not suitable for commuting. The open-back ear cups do not block any ambient noise and leak a lot.
