External Reviews
androidauthority[1]
Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro is not a new smartwatch but it does bring some new features to the table. The improved build materials are nice to have but don't significantly change what the watch can do. Wireless charging might not be life-changing but it's a nice upgrade. The price will be €329 (Sport) and €349 (Classic), with availability starting this month.
Pros
- Excellent build quality
- Excellent fitness and activity tracking
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- Limited third-party software support
- No wireless charging
notebookcheck[2]
Reviewer score 67% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Watch GT 2 Pro is the first and, at the time of this test, only smartwatch from Huawei that has wireless charging technology. To set up the watch, you need a Huawei account, which you can create during the watch's set-up, and the Huawei Health app. The health app is used to decide which messages the smartwatch receives, whether a disconnected Bluetooth connection triggers a warning, and whether the display is automatically activated.
Pros
- Dual-band Wi-Fi
- Accurate heart rate and sleep monitoring
- Long battery life
Cons
- No LTE-compatible model
- Mediocre battery life
phonearena[3]
Reviewer score 81% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro runs on the proprietary LiteOS and is powered by Huawei's in-house developed Kirin A1 chipset. The display is a 1.39-inch OLED panel with a 454 x 454 resolution, resulting in approximately 462 PPI density. There are 13 watch faces preinstalled on the watch and you can download hundreds of additional watch faces in the Huawei Health app. The watch's diameter is 46.7mm, and although this might seem like a big number, the clean design looks really good.
Pros
- Beautiful design
- Excellent battery life
- Excellent fitness features
Cons
- No cellular connectivity
- No Wi-Fi
techadvisor[4]
Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro is the most expensive GT-branded smartwatch the company has released thus far. It is markedly more competitive against the new Apple Watch Series 6 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 3. During workouts, the Pro's integrated speaker really shines, relaying pertinent information like distance, pace, heart rate and more. It's an elevated experience compared to the speakerless GT 2e.
Pros
- Impressive battery life
- Competitively priced
Cons
- Lacks a speaker
- More expensive than the GT 2e
techradar[5]
Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro works with both Android and iOS. You can call contacts directly from your watch, using the watch as a Bluetooth receiver. The GPS accuracy was reliably spot-on in our time with the watch, matching up with both a phone and a pricier wearable. The Huawei Health app is also a solid offering across iOS and Android, acting as a dashboard for your health stats.
Pros
- Excellent battery life
- Excellent call quality
- Excellent fitness tracking
Cons
- Loud, annoying voice projects
- No third-party apps
trustedreviews[6]
Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Huawei Watch 2 looks nice, is well built and does the tracking well. The OLED screen itself is sharp and clear, with good outdoor visibility even in direct sunlight. Huawei has chosen to go with its own software, rather than something like Android Wear. This is both a good and bad decision, but one that really allows Huawei to maximise battery life.
Pros
- Excellent battery life
- Excellent fitness features
- Excellent GPS
Cons
- Swiping and scrolling are a bit slow
- No universal payment
