digitaltrends[1]

Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from digitaltrends have found:
The Sennheiser CX 400BT offer superb sound for their $200 price. Stereo imaging, precision, depth, and width of the soundstage are all superb. If only they had a few more bells and whistles, we'd be in true wireless earbud heaven.
Pros
  • Superb sound quality
  • Comply Foam tips
  • Comfortable fit
Cons
  • Underwhelming battery life
  • No active noise cancellation (ANC)

pcmag[2]

Reviewer score 87% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from pcmag have found:
The Sennheiser CX 400BT are some of the best-sounding true wireless in-ears we've tested. The earphones are compatible with Bluetooth 5.1, and support AAC, AptX, and SBC codecs. On tracks with intense sub-bass content, the earphones deliver powerful low-frequency response. The mic offers solid intelligibility.
Pros
  • Powerful, natural sound signature
  • Comfortable fit
  • Supports AAC, AptX, and SBC codecs
Cons
  • Noise cancellation isn’t adjustable

rtings[3]

Reviewer score 32% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from rtings have found:
The Sennheiser CX 400BT are alright for mixed use. They're fairly comfortable and are stable enough for moderate exercise. They can reduce quite a bit of mid-range sounds like ambient chatter. However, they struggle to block out bass-range noise like bus engines. Their battery life most likely won't be enough to get you through your 9-5.
Pros
  • Well-built design
  • Comfortable and stable fit
  • Good passive noise isolation performance
  • Great battery life
Cons
  • Bass-heavy soundstage
  • No stability fins
  • Lacks low-bass

t3[4]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from t3 have found:
The Sennheiser CX400BT are among the most capable all-rounders this sort of money can buy. Wireless connectivity is via Bluetooth 5.1, and there's support for SBC, AAC and aptX codecs. Voice assistance can be provided by either Siri or Google Assistant.
Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Excellent detail retrieval
  • Decent build quality
Cons
  • No aptX HD

techradar[5]

Reviewer score 84% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from techradar have found:
The CX400BT are an articulate and naturalistic listen on the whole, and nowhere is that more apparent than when they're loading voices with character and emotional weight. The bottom end attacks with straight-edged clarity, and the decay of individual notes is well managed at the bottom of the frequency range as a whole. Up in the midrange there's an equally gratifying amount of detail retrieved and laid out for inspection. Seven-in is not the most impressive battery life a true wireless in-ear.
Pros
  • Excellent sound quality
  • Excellent control app
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • No aptX or Hi-Res Audio compatibility
  • No wireless charging

trustedreviews[6]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from trustedreviews have found:
The CX 400BT have the same 7mm drivers that feature in the MOMENTUM TW2 (which we bestowed our best true wireless award 2020) Bluetooth 5.1 is the wireless connection and despite the premium sound claims there’s no support for LDAC or aptX-HD. The headphones support Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri (though none are built in) and they’re compatible with the Sennheiser Smart Control app (Android, iOS)
Pros
  • High-fidelity stereo sound
  • Intuitive controls
  • Decent battery life
Cons
  • No LDAC or aptX-HD support

whathifi[7]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from whathifi have found:
Sennheiser CX 400BT wireless earbuds are a great value for money. Sound is lively and clear-cut, and relatively open presentation is infused with clarity and generously peppered with detail. Bass is taut and agile, mids are expressive and particularly open, and a crisp, present treble doesn't let the side down. However, their sparkle comes at the expense of a little refinement.
Pros
  • Gorgeous, energetic sound
  • Comfortable fit
  • Excellent battery life
Cons
  • Not for sportswear
  • Touch controls can be hit and miss
