Product Overview

ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 14 UX481 is a flagship dual-screen laptop that reinvents the conventional clamshell form factor by adding a full-width ScreenPad Plus and a touchpad / numpad that resides to the right of the keyboard.
Having won numerous awards for their innovative design and boost in productivity as a result, the ZenBook Pro Duo 14 UX481 features modern, glossy aluminum chassis, great ergonomics, and powerful internal components.
The namesake of the UX481 is the second screen named ScreenPad Plus: It brings new possibilities to interact with the laptop. With the bundled stylus, it brings virtually limitless possibilities. The numeric keypad / touchpad combo solution is elegant as it is utilitarian.
A unique advantage of the ZenBook Pro Duo's new form factor is the raise of the ScreenPad Plus when the lid is flipped open: This opens a large vent that significantly improves heat management, allowing the device to pack a lot of power in a more compact chassis.
Alongside the 14-inch model, ASUS also introduced the 15.6-inch ZenBook Pro Duo 15.

External Reviews

laptopmag[1]

Reviewer score 85% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from laptopmag have found:
With both displays turned on, the ZenBook Duo lasted for 9 hours and 44 minutes in our battery test. It took just 5 seconds to complete the task, which equates to a transfer speed of 958.4 megabytes per second. It's practicality over picture quality when it comes to the 720p webcam on the top bezel.
Pros
  • Gorgeous 14-inch display
  • Excellent battery life
  • Comfortable keyboard
Cons
  • No Thunderbolt 3

ndtv[2]

Reviewer score 68% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from ndtv have found:
The screen was fine for productivity work as well as entertainment. Viewing angles are good and we always like a non-reflective panel. The sound is quite loud and expansive, but it does distort quite badly at full volume. This isn't really a gaming laptop, and the discrete Nvidia GeForce MX250 GPU is barely adequate for 3D graphics.
Pros
  • Sleek design
  • Comfortable keyboard
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Keyboard and trackpad are uncomfortable
  • ScreenPad Plus can get warm at full volume

notebookcheck[3]

Reviewer score 56% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from notebookcheck have found:
The ZenBook 14 UX433 has a 12.6-inch secondary matte touchscreen that Asus has dubbed the ScreenPad Plus. It offers the same screen width and PPI as the primary display for a true 1:1 dual-screen experience. Asus advertises 72 percent NTSC or full sRGB coverage for its ZenBook Duo laptop. The secondary display covers only 59 percent of sRGB and AdobeRGB.
Pros
  • Slim and light design
  • Good keyboard and touchpad
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Only one M.2 storage drive

tomshardware[4]

Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)
Reviewers from tomshardware have found:
With just the main display on, the Asus ZenBook Duo lasted 11 hours and 50 minutes. If you aren't happy with the 10th Gen Intel i7, Nvidia MX250 graphics, 1TB SSD and 16GB of memory, you'll have to look elsewhere. The keyboard and touchpad are very cramped thanks to the area usually occupied by the keyboard.
Pros
  • Excellent battery life
  • Good keyboard and touchpad
  • Comfortable keyboard
Cons
  • Nothing in particular
