Sony SRS-XB23 is a compact and lightweight wireless speaker in the company's EXTRA BASS lineup. It offers deep, punchy bass, thanks to Sony's new, non-circular X-Balanced Speaker Unit with dual side passive radiators.
Unlike conventional speaker units with a circular diaphragm, the non-circular X-Balanced Speaker Unit in the SRS-XB23 maximizes the area of the diaphragm and reduces driver excursion, resulting in lower distortion and greater clarity.
Thanks to Party Connect, owners can connect up to 100 compatible wireless speakers via Bluetooth to sync music.

At high volume levels, the bass sounds thinned-out, while at moderate volumes, you get a stronger bass sound. The vocals on this track are delivered with solid high-mid and high-frequency clarity. For speakerphones calls, the mic offers decent intelligibility.

Its companion app offers a graphic EQ so you can adjust its sound to your liking. However, it has low audio latency on iOS and Android devices.

This is the first year the Extra Bass speakers are using USB Type C connectors instead of Micro-USB. Sony promises about 12 hours of playback on a full charge but that's the average when listening to music at 50% volume.
