Product Overview

The 2021 Lexus IS pushes its sports sedan characteristic to a new level. From the functional aerodynamic enhancements to aggressive character lines, the 2021 redesign reflects the athletic nature of the IS.
New 19-inch wheels accentuate the redesigned exterior and improve cornering performance. The suspension setup now features coil springs 20% lighter than those found in the outgoing model, and the new forged aluminium control arms (in place of the outgoing steel ones) are 18% lighter. Overall, these updates reduce unsprung weight and improve ride comfort as well as handling.
In 2021, Lexus reintroduced the V8 to the IS with the new IS 500 F Sport.

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
Mercedes E-Class is the most complete car here and will appeal to widest range of buyers. Genesis G80 excels in many key areas, yet falls short in a couple of places. BMW 5 Series is still the king in the exec saloon market. It rides better than any of the cars here, is better to drive and has just as much interior room and luxury.

Pros
  • Excellent engine range
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Good value for money

  • Poor infotainment
  • Lack of standard kit

The ES 250 offers 13.9 cubic feet of trunk space, a good amount to be sure. An 8-inch infotainment screen is included on lower-end models, but a beautiful 12.3-incher is available. The 2021 ES sedan starts at 41 grand and change including $1,025 in delivery fees.

Reviewers from cnet have found the following***:
Despite its sporty appearance, the ES 350 is a comfy-cozy cruiser above all. It's powered by a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6, with 302 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. Lexus' Safety System 2.0 suite of driver-assistance technologies is standard on all trims.

Reviewers from cnet have found the following***:
The 2021 Lexus IS 300 starts at $40,025 including $1,025 for destination. The 3.5-liter V6 is fine, but it's dragged down by an old six-speed automatic transmission. The interior is nicely appointed, even if there's a lack of storage space.

Pros
  • Powerful turbocharged engine
  • Excellent infotainment system
  • Comfortable ride
Cons
  • Uncomfortable to drive
  • Lack of storage space
  • Awful backup camera
