notebookcheck[1]
Reviewer score 57% (normalized by Neofiliac)Viewing angles were very wide overall, and screen content remained very well recognizable practically regardless of angle. Samsung’s extensive settings menu includes a mode referred to as “Outdoor+” that boosted brightness even further. In our tests, the Galaxy Book Ion 13.3 topped out at 43 °C under load. The laptop felt smooth and snappy throughout the entire test period.
Pros
- Matte IPS display
- Very good battery life
- High-quality case
Cons
- Low-contrast display
- No Thunderbolt 3
techradar[2]
Reviewer score 77% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung Galaxy Book Ion comes with Windows 10 Home installed. Windows 10 boots up fast, and feels snappy and responsive when in use. Even with several different apps open at once, the laptop kept pace without any issues. However, the lack of a discrete GPU means this won't be a laptop you'd want to use for gaming or graphic-intensive creative work.
Pros
- Sleek design
- Long battery life
- Good performance
Cons
- No discrete GPU
- No Thunderbolt 3
trustedreviews[3]
Reviewer score 64% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Samsung Galaxy Book Ion has an outstanding battery life, reaching up to 14 hours and 40 minutes when running the PCMark 10 battery test simulation. The processor performance is decent, and easily powerful enough to power through web browsing, video streaming and word processing with no noticeable lag. The laptop can get a little warm, especially underneath, but never to a degree that it became uncomfortable to rest on my lap. The Ion is clearly aimed at casual users, with the ultra-portable design, gorgeous QLED screen and outrageously long battery life.
Pros
- Gorgeous QLED screen
- Excellent battery life
- Comfortable keyboard
Cons
- Mediocre graphics performance
- Dim display
