Product Overview

Yamaha M-5000 power amplifier features a patented floating and balanced design that shortens the signal path and minimizes impedance for high-fidelity performance. The power supply of the M-5000 "floats" from the ground to remove undesirable impacts of minute voltage fluctuations or ground noise.
A massive toroidal transformer boasts less flux leakage and higher efficiency, while components are used to reduce impedance.
It is a perfect companion for the C-5000 preamplifier.

Reviewers from hifinews have found:
Yamaha's C-5000 and M-5000 power amps show Japanese engineering ingenuity and construction quality at its very best. Sound is typically sublime, with longstanding 'Natural Sound' moniker rarely more appropriate. Both amps are fed by a Naim CD5XS CD player with FlatCap XS PSU and a Michell Gyro SE turntable with SME 309 arm.
Pros
  • Superb clarity and detail
  • Impressive build and finish
  • Excellent build quality
Cons
  • No phono input
