Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)The 2020 LG Gram 17 weighs just under 3 pounds (1.4 kilograms) Despite its tall 17-inch display, it's incredibly light with a long battery life. The keyboard's new number pad is great, but the centered touchpad might lead to accidental cursor movement. processor performance is stepped up some, thanks to the addition of a 10th-gen Intel Core i7-1065G7.
Pros
- Long battery life
- High-quality 16:10 display
- Long-lasting battery
Cons
- Nothing in particular
notebookcheck[2]
Reviewer score 56% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Core i7-1065G7 is unable to move ahead of the Core i5-1035G7 processor of the Gram 15. The combination of the quad-core processor, NVMe-SSD, and working memory running in dual-channel mode ensures a fast and smoothly running system. A 1 TB NVMe SSD (M.2-2280) from Samsung delivers excellent transfer rates.
Pros
- Matte IPS display
- Good battery life
- NVMe SSD
Cons
- Mediocre CPU performance
- No Thunderbolt 3
pcmag[3]
Reviewer score 78% (normalized by Neofiliac)The LG Gram 17 offers the most compelling combination of screen size and light weight that we've seen from any laptop in recent years. It's an efficient, modern chip that can easily handle simple games like Minecraft or Fortnite, but it can't compare to the Nvidia GeForce GTX-class graphics in competing large laptops. At 15 hours, the Gram 17 isn't markedly longer-lived than its competitors but it's nevertheless impressive that it manages to eke out this showing.
Pros
- Sleek, light design
- Excellent keyboard and touchpad
- Slim bezels
- Good battery life
Cons
- Dim display
- No Thunderbolt 3 port
techadvisor[4]
Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)The LG gram 17 has a new Intel Core i7-1065G7 processor. There's still 16GB of RAM but it's even faster 3200MHz DDR4 Dual Channel and there's now double the storage with two 512GB SSDs using speedy NVMe technology. The two speakers are still mounted on the underside of the laptop and are pretty weedy both in terms of the amount of power on offer and the quality. The battery life has gone from 72- to 80Wh, but LG only touts 17 hours compared to 19.5 of the previous model.
Pros
- Great performance
- Decent battery life
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 3

Reviewer score 72% (normalized by Neofiliac)The LG Gram 17 has a 2,560 x 1,600 IPS display with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The keyboard deck and screen have a bit too much flex to give us much confidence in its ability to survive any kind of trauma. The touchpad gets the job done, and is honestly one of the better Windows trackpads we've used. The laptop is more geared to folks that just need to do some heavy Microsoft Excel work while traveling.
Pros
- Sleek, lightweight design
- Excellent performance
- Great battery life
Cons
- Weak speakers
- Weak speakers
tomsguide[6]
Reviewer score 73% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Gram 17's U-series processor might not be ideal for gaming, but you could definitely use this laptop to play less resource-hungry titles. Its score of 15,626 on the Geekbench 4.3 test one-upped its predecessor by a slim margin. The Intel Iris Plus graphics in the Gram 17 are better than the integrated graphics of yesteryear.
Pros
- Gorgeous 14-inch display
- Powerful Intel Core i7 processor
- Good battery life
Cons
- Display could be brighter
trustedreviews[7]
Reviewer score 76% (normalized by Neofiliac)The new LG Gram 17 (2020) is unrivalled when it comes to 17-inch notebooks. It has the same Quad HD resolution as its predecessor, but subtle tweaks have actually resulted in an increase in colour accuracy. Intel’s Ice Lake chip also boasts integrated graphics, which should theoretically allow the Gram 17 to run low-demanding games without a graphics card. LG claims the new Gram 17 has a battery life up to 17 hours long – that figure is pretty hyperbolic.
Pros
- Gorgeous 17-inch Quad HD display
- Sleek design
- Great battery life
Cons
- Mediocre graphics performance
- Keyboard feels uncomfortable to touch
