Product Overview

BMW M8 Gran Coupe F93 is the high-performance variant of the G16 BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe in production from 2019. It is available with a two tunes of the S63 bi-turbo hot-V8 engine that displaced 4.4 liters.
Drivers who appreciate handling will be pleased to know that the BMW M8 Gran Coupe F93 comes with double-wishbone at the front and multi-link at the rear. This is a bit unusual for AWD and less tunable than a multi-link front setup, but what you lose in performance you gain in durability.

Reviewers from autocar have found the following***:
The Gran Coupé is the most usable M8, that's for sure. It doesn't radiate a particularly special feel, however, with much of the technology and switchgear lifted from lesser BMWs. Despite the typically excessive drive modes and driver assist functions to deal with, the major controls are intuitive and BMW’s iDrive remains the benchmark for on-the-move usability.

Pros
  • Powerful twin-turbo V8
  • Comfortable to drive
Cons
  • Fiddly infotainment system
  • Lacklustre handling

Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The M850i Gran Coupe has a broad remit, tasked with being part sports car and part luxury GT. It feels equally comfortable in both suits but you have to pay for it. At over £100,000 with options it looks an incredibly expensive car. But the equally impressive, if not quite as rapid, 840i does a remarkably similar job for almost £30,000 less.

Pros
  • Powerful engine
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Excellent infotainment system
Cons
  • Lack of headroom in the back

autoexpress[3]

Reviewer score 51%
Reviewers from autoexpress have found the following***:
The BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe is the firm's flagship performance car. In the UK it only comes in Competition spec, so the 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 makes a massive 616bhp and 750Nm of torque. Despite the weight the M8 is low, so it's centre of gravity feels it too. There's a great level of grip, but you wouldn't know it through the artificial-feeling dead steering.

Pros
  • Powerful V8
  • Comfortable to drive
  • Lots of tech
Cons
  • Rear-wheel drive isn’t as responsive as rivals
  • No Android Auto

The BMW M8 Gran Coupe is a larger, more practical version of the M8 Coupe. It comes with the same 625hp engine, but gets a more practical four-door body with a roomier boot and four seats. Audi and Porsche also provide the same blend of coupe styling with two rows of seats and monumental performance.

Pros
  • Bigger and more practical than the M850i
  • Lots of fun to drive
Cons
  • Not as practical as the 8 Series Coupe
  • Not as comfortable as the M8

The M850i Gran Coupe starts at $109,895, including $995 for destination. It's a full second quicker in the 0-to-60-mph run than the 840i, able to do the sprint in 3.7 seconds. M Sport brakes are great, scrubbing off speed with ease, without being hard to modulate.

  • Powerful V8

  • No Android Auto

The 8 Series Gran Coupe has a fantastic interior, and that's not just exclusive to the M8. Atop the center stack is where you'll find the main, 10.2-inch multimedia display. Apple CarPlay is standard, and can be used wirelessly, which is nice.
