Product Overview

Sony's NW-A105 Walkman is a compact audio player with a 3.6-inch HD display that features USB-C connectivity.
NW-A100TPS is a 40th anniversary edition of Sony's Walkman portable audio players. It is priced at 440 EUR.
The NW-A100 Series Walkman is compatible with Hi-Res Audio that delivers studio-quality sound in higher than CD quality. The S-Master HX digital amplifier delivers High-Resolution Audio in maximum quality, with reduced distortion and noise. DSEE HX rebuilds audio lost during digital compression for a full-fidelity audio experience, even when streaming music. DSD audio formats up to 11.2 MHz are also supported, thanks to the NW-A100 series' high-quality PCM conversion.
Thanks to LDAC, Sony's premium wireless codec, the NW-A100 series deliver 3x the bitrate of standard BLUETOOTH® technology for a superior listening experience. Further Near Field Communication (NFC) and Bluetooth wireless technology make connecting to your music fast and easy.
The NW-A100 series' rigid aluminum milled frame provides superior rigidity for low impedance and clear, stable sound and solid bass. High-quality film capacitors are used in the amplification stage to help the NW-A100 series realize transparent, expansive highs and natural sound. The surface-mounted Fine Sound Resistor ensures even, effective distribution of power to the circuit components for consistent sound quality. By dividing the Audio block and the Power/Digital block, the circuit board layout has been optimized to ensure sound quality is unaffected by digital noise. The exceptional conductivity of gold ensures absolute minimum signal loss. For clearer sound and vocals, a premium, audio-grade lead-free solder with a small amount of gold connects the circuit of the NW-A100 series to the battery.

Reviewers from whathifi have found:
The Sony Walkman NW-A100 series arrived at IFA 2019 with great retro fanfare. It's a palm-sized rigid aluminium frame that holds a 3.6in Full HD touchscreen. Android 9.0 OS makes the device perfectly usable and gives access to all of your favourite music streaming apps, but the big sell is the Walkman app itself.
Pros
  • Punchy hi-res audio
  • Good battery life
Cons
  • Limited TPS version
