Product Overview
Leica Q2 is a flagship Full-Frame compact camera with a prime lens. Introduced by Leica in 2019, it comes with a full-frame sensor with 47 MP (8368 x 5584) resolution and a 3.69 million-dot EVF.
The camera has a usable battery life, though a second battery may be a good thing to keep in your camera bag. It should be noted for having a 50 base ISO, which promises cleaner shots. Professionals and fanboys will be pleased by the extraordinary 20.0 fps burst rate that this camera can deliver.
The Leica Q2 comes with 49 autofocus points. Interestingly, Leica has endowed this compact camera with a prime lens, which appeals to a distinctly different set of consumers than the usual point-and-shoot users.

External Reviews

Reviewer score 80% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Q2's video capabilities are pretty impressive on paper. It can record in 4K UHD at 24 or 30fps, and supports the wider 4K DCI format at 24fps. There's no flat video profile, but that's not a huge surprise. It's easy to write off the Q2 as a fashion accessory for the elite.
Pros
- Excellent image quality
- High-resolution sensor
- Weather sealing
Cons
- Not as versatile as an ultra-wide angle lens

Reviewer score 83% (normalized by Neofiliac)Sharpness is already great in the centre of the frame when shooting at f/1.7, but corners are a little softer by comparison. Dynamic range appears to be excellent at the lower ISO settings, and you can pull back lots of detail from shadows in Raw files. Videos are nicely detailed when captured in the maximum 4K resolution and rolling shutter is also well controlled.
Pros
- Excellent image quality
- Excellent electronic viewfinder
- Excellent battery life
Cons
- No touch-sensitive LCD screen
- No full-frame sensor

Reviewer score 71% (normalized by Neofiliac)There's a character to Leica photos, and that character comes through in each and every shot you take on the Q2. With a fixed lens, you lose out on the endless versatility offered by an interchangeable lens camera. The Q2 includes a standard array of modern conveniences like Wi-Fi, video capability, and a rear touchscreen.
Pros
- Excellent image quality
- Excellent autofocus
- Fantastic sensor
Cons
- Flexible lens
- No interchangeable lenses
