Product Overview

Dell Precision 5540 is an ultra-thin 15.6-inch mobile workstation that shares its chassis with the XPS 15 7590. Like the consumer-oriented model, the Precision 5540 offers 4K OLED display and 4K IGZO touchscreen options.
Under the hood, the Precision 5540 is powered by 9th-gen Intel Core H-series or Xeon E processors as well as NVIDIA Quadro graphics up to Quadro T2000. It also supports up to 64GB of DDR4 memory and up to 4TB of PCIe SSD. As a workstation, the new compact 15.6-inch Precision comes with Thunderbolt 3 and WiFi 6 connectivity options.
All of these are packed inside a slim chassis just under 2/3 of an inch thin. The InfinityEdge display allows the Precision 5540 to fit a 15.6-inch display in a chassis of a 14-inch device from yesteryear. With the 97Wh battery option, the Precision 5540 also offers a level of portability rarely seen in a mobile workstation.

Dell has equipped the Precision 5540 with a 512-GB SK Hynix SSD.
