digitaltrends[1]
Reviewer score 93% (normalized by Neofiliac)Despite using the same parts as other laptops, Dell has consistently innovated in pulling performance out of its components. The processor is now upgraded to the most recent Intel's 10th-gen Core ‘Ice Lake' chips. The XPS 13 can last up to 14.5 hours in local video playback, or as few as 5 in heavier tasks.
Pros
- Powerful quad-core processor
- Sturdy build quality
- Comfortable keyboard
- Good battery life
Cons
- No 4K+ option
notebookcheck[2]
Reviewer score 62% (normalized by Neofiliac)All SKUs come with the Killer Wi-Fi 6 AX1650 for connectivity and Bluetooth 5.0. Color space is not any wider than the FHD option despite the denser PPI. 4K video playback on YouTube remains smooth with no dropped frames. Running on battery power will limit performance even if on Dell's Ultra Performance mode.
Pros
- High-contrast IPS display
- Good battery life
- Fast Wi-Fi 6 connectivity
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 3
pcworld[3]
Reviewer score 89% (normalized by Neofiliac)The most important metric of any ultraportable laptop is likely its battery life. The overall performance of the XPS 13 9300 is quite good, with playback lasting just over 12 hours. It's not quite as good as HP's Spectre x360 13t, but the Spectre has a larger battery and a “1-watt” panel.
Pros
- Beautiful 2.5-inch display
- Excellent battery life
- Excellent keyboard and touchpad
Cons
- Lackluster graphics performance
- Short battery life
techadvisor[4]
Reviewer score 74% (normalized by Neofiliac)The new Tiger Lake XPS 13 has a near-identical thermal design, so don't expect any significant improvements over the model reviewed here. You might have to wait until 2021 for Dell to sort out its overheating issues. This is still a powerful machine, but the thermal issues make me hesitant to recommend the i7 model, as you're unlikely to get all the benefit of the CPU anyway. If you need the power of an i7 then there are other ultrabooks that can handle the heat better.
Pros
- Beautiful 16:10 display
- Strong performance
- Great keyboard
Cons
- Thermal issues
- No 5G support
trustedreviews[5]
Reviewer score 93% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Dell XPS 13 (2020) is one of the best Ultrabooks on the market. It comes with Intel’s latest 10th Gen Ice Lake chips at its heart. Our review model sports the top Ice Lake chip, the i7-1065G7, alongside 16GB of RAM, 512GB SSD and the aforementioned 4K display (you can also choose between touch and non-touch)
Pros
- Gorgeous 4K display
- Superb battery life
- Excellent performance
Cons
- Not the best-in-class 4K screen
wired[6]
Reviewer score 91% (normalized by Neofiliac)The Dell XPS 13 has more than enough power to handle an average day of work. The new hinge has a tendency to flop open when the XPS is sideways. The backlight contrast ratio with the white keyboard is still too low in all but the darkest of rooms. If you opt for the Core i7 model, expect your battery to be even better.
Pros
- Slim bezels
- Bright, high-resolution screen
- Comfortable keyboard
Cons
- No Thunderbolt 3
